Kudo’s to Obama

Obama turns down campaign help from Lindsay Lohan.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, LiLo wanted to promote Obama but was turned away by his camp due to her wild ways.

Hey, hey and this peeves Lindsay’s dad who goes on to attack Obama…

“For Barack Obama to condemn my daughter for past indiscretions when he admitted to the exact same himself is indicative of what kind of president he would be,” Michael Lohan told Pop Tarts via e-mail on Wednesday night.

Uugh, I believe Lindsay’s transgressions are a little more recent. Perhaps she should work on earning back a reputation as a solid citizen and a hard worker, then she no doubt would be embraced by whatever candidate she asked to endorse.

Boulder, find your white trash right here

Thanks Heather Mallick!

In the CBC story, Mallick wrote that John McCain’s running mate “added nothing to the ticket that the Republicans didn’t already have sewn up, the white trash vote.”

She proceeded to write that the Alaska governor “has a toned-down version of the porn actress look favored by this decade’s woman, the overtreated hair, puffy lips and permanently alarmed expression.”

She also questioned why the Palins were allowing Levi Johnston — 17-year-old Bristol Palin’s boyfriend and father of her unborn baby — into the family.

“What normal father would want Levi ‘I’m a f—-n’ redneck’ Johnson prodding his daughter?” Mallick asked.

The CBC ombudsman doesn’t seem to understand the difference between a state run new agency, The CANADIAN Broadcasting Network, to a private news organization, FOX news.

CBC Ombudsman Vince Carlin told FOXNews.com that he has gotten “quite a few complaints about [the column], both from Canada and the U.S,” and said he’s reviewing its contents to see if it meets CBC’s journalistic standards and practices.

Asked if Mallick’s column represented the views of CBC or the Canadian government, which owns CBC, Carlin suggested it did not and questioned whether commentators on FOX News represent the views of all Americans.

“I don’t think so,” he answered.

As for Mallick, he said, “She’s a columnist not a journalist.”

Yea, that puts everything into perspective.

Contradicting the fairy tale image of Sarah Palin

Good to see instructor Andrew Halem of Metro State College leading the way. I have little doubt there are plenty of Andre Halem Wannabees at the University of Colorado and Middle and High Schools across the country.

“I was shocked, I was holy cow, this is just an open door for him to discuss politics with us,” said Jana Barber, a student in the class.

Barber shared the first class assignment with CBS4. Instructor Andrew Hallam asked students to write an essay to contradict what he called the ‘fairy tale image of Palin’ presented at the Republican National Convention.

“What the faculty’s responsibility is to provide opportunity for critical thinking and civic engagement so bringing something of relevancy into the classroom was the faculty’s goal,” said Cathy Lucas, spokeswoman for Metro State. “Should he have broadened it and included all the political figures, yes.”

Well at least Metro State is investigating. I hope administrators and other Colleges, Universities and Middle and High schools as well, are on the lookout for such atrocities. Of course, it has to concern them first, doesn’t it?

Spilt soda federal jail time

C’mon there must be more to this story. Federal jail time for not paying for a soda? Does US attorney Tom Moss have a boss? Is he bored or is he simply a pathetic loser?

Must be more to this story, there just simply must be. Otherwise, US attorney Tom Moss needs to find his next place of employment at a homeless shelter or better yet unemployed out on the streets with a sleeping bag.

Less than half the move!

My earlier post showed less than 1/2 the gold move.

Gotta love the IRS

The IRS has acknowledged that Jamey and Lora Costner of Newport are victims of identity theft and Congress has called on them to testify.

But does that mean the IRS will take a step back and be reasonable? Do pigs fly?

Perhaps Charlie Rangel a can help? LOL

Barack ads

This is “lifted” from the local paper…

I am registered to vote Barack and it will be against you. It’s probably one of the few selections I make on the ballot that will amount too much, the other probably being for Bob Shaffer against Mark Udall.

I’m hopefull my votes against the power troika of Boulder County Commissioners will also be meaningful. At the moment the votes is simply against Will Toor, Cindy Domenico and Ben Pearlman.

Bailing out AIG inflationary?

The goldbugs think so. What a spike this is! Looks like around $35/oz in under an hour.

Team Obama, grow up

This happened in Colorado, when invited on a KCOL talk radio show they declined (read the link to see the actual history behind it). Which leads Ed Morrisey over at Hot Air to conclude…

Democrats have pushed for a restoration of the Fairness Doctrine, purportedly to provide more political balance in talk radio. When given an opportunity for balance, though, it appears that they’re less interested in engaging talk radio and more interested in shunning it. All Jones wanted was someone from the campaign to spout talking points, which isn’t exactly brain surgery for any campaign.

Also read how the Obama “team” takes on WGN and Howard Kurtz. Geez guys, this is a campaign. Ed Morrisey conclude this time…

So let’s get this straight. Team Obama calls Kurtz all of these names, and it’s Kurtz who’s the character assassin? For the second straight time on this topic, Team Obama has delivered a hysterical, shrieking offensive on a topic they’d be better off ignoring. Earlier this week, they demanded a criminal prosecution against a critic of The One for pointing out his association with unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers. Now they’ve attacked Kurtz through an organized campaign of character assassination.

Team Obama has become so overwrought at the mere thought of criticism that they now overreact on a constant basis. It’s a measure of the fear in the campaign that they have decided that they cannot abide any criticism at all, and instead of simply responding to it, they attempt to silence it instead. Worse, they seem to believe that the Department of Justice is a great tool for oppressing such criticism — while Democrats accuse the Bush administration of the same, which much less evidence for their allegations.

A wise person once said….

Doing some cleaning up and I had printed this out and it had gotten put into a “stack of stuff”. By putting it on my blog, at least I’ll be able to find it in the future!

“Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.”

Because you know, they are!

The media that it.

Mark Penn: Well, I think that the media is doing the kinds of stories on Palin that they’re not doing on the other candidates. And that’s going to subject them to people concluding that they’re giving her a tougher time.

The more I think about it, the media, for a variety of reasons has been in panic mode for a lot longer than the Obama campaign. I’m beginning to believe that the MSM is finally actually losing credibility with the main stream citizen. Can’t say they don’t deserve it.

Of course the local liberal paper, The (Boulder) Daily Camera will be one of the last to figure it out as their readership is composed of “not” main stream citizens. It’s that 25 square miles surrounded by reality thing!

McCain doesn’t know how to use a computer ad

Thanks to Wonkette for the video.

Democrats, I think this ad plays to the base, but not the the voters you need. Keep it up!

Another unforced error

If the Obama campaign keeps this up, it will be game, set and match well before November. I like this quote from National Review

“It’s extraordinary that someone who wants to be our president and our commander in chief knows how to send an e-mail …but not how to do a five-minute Google search.” Or even how to hire someone who can . . . .

Yes, there’s an element of truth but even a 5th grader can figure out it isn’t worth it. Oh, but we’re talking about Democrats in a state of panic, I forgot.

added a few minutes later…

Darren checks in on the same subject…

Would you criticize the black Democratic governor of New York because he cannot drive? Oh, did I mention he’s blind?

Texas coast weather conditions

7:15pm Mountain time

OK, I’m not capturing this anymore. The display I’ve captured gives the impression the data is real time. I’ve come to the conclusions that not only is it not real time, it’s updated less than hourly. Fancy but useless. I’m disappointed as I thought it would be pretty neat to have an hourly history. Oh well.

Be careful out there (part II)

So far Ike seems to be staying a Cat 2. However, due to the massiveness of the hurricane, the storm surge is very big. I’m sure this isn’t new news to folks but it’s my PSA for the day. Get additional info at Weather.com.

Congressional races now getting close

According to a recent Gallup poll, it now appears a Democratically controlled congress is no longer a sure thing.

Stunning, simply stunning.

I’m looking forward to continued panic from the liberals nationwide, the MSM and especially Boulder. I predict The Daily Camera editors will pick up on this in the immediate future.
