“I don’t worry about the Consititution”

Isn’t there something about the Constitution in their oath of office? Then there’s other confusion regarding important documents.

Obamacare: Widespread skepticism

Duh.

If Democrats really believe that ObamaCare will help them in the midterm elections, then the most recent Gallup survey will leave them disillusioned. Americans remain just as skeptical as they have been for months on Democratic claims of cost effectiveness and improvements, both personally and to the system as a whole. In fact, only 21% think the new law will improve their health care, while 50% believe it will make it worse:

Now the good news!

There is one more piece of bad news for Democrats. This is a poll of adults, not registered or likely voters, which would normally skew more towards liberal sensibilities. If this is the sense of the general adult population, then the attitudes of voters will be even more dour than this.

Here we go again….

Climategate II.

NASA can put a man on the moon, but the space agency can’t tell you what the temperature was back then. NASA was able to put a man on the moon, but the space agency can’t tell you what the temperature was when it did. By its own admission, NASA’s temperature records are in even worse shape than the besmirched Climate-gate data.

Of course this article is from FOX news so the 24 square miles surrounded by reality and the paper that reports on these issues can ignore it for the time being. That said, it’s based on Freedom of Information Act requests so eventually someone from the legacy media will report on it. I’m sure the Daily Camera is clearing guest editorial space for the local climate scientists to once again tell us how smart they are and why we should believe that climate Armageddon is around the corner.

Medicare Dr. reimbursement cuts suspended.

Oh what a surprise. Of course, it couldn’t have much to do with cold hard reality?

The problem with the price-fixing scheme is that it’s narrowing the list of providers. Doctors can’t pay for their own costs now, and cutting reimbursements by 21% will only make the situation worse. It will force more providers out of the Medicare/Medicaid markets, the latter of which Congress expanded to include millions of new clients, which actually makes the situation worse for providers who want to remain part of the Medicaid system. The flood of new patients will displace those covered by private insurance, which will force them to go out of business or get out of Medicaid.

Of course, we knew that before Congress began to debate ObamaCare — and so did the Democrats….

Well I’m not so sure about the 24 square miles surrounded by reality.

… and of course there’s the obvious conclusion:

On April 1st, the illusion ends. When those cuts don’t go into effect, ObamaCare becomes a deficit-expanding program — and that’s assuming that the rest of it works as advertised, a very large assumption that flies in the face of experience from every government entitlement program ever created.

(emphasis added – ed)

It seems more government spending and more taxes will solve all of our problems. Pathetic.

Rising debt and the loss of confidence….

of the government to deal with it.

Obama fulfills both.

Should the United States someday suffer a budget crisis, it will be hard not to conclude that Obama and his allies sowed the seeds, because they ignored conspicuous warnings. A further irony will not escape historians. For two years, Obama and members of Congress have angrily blamed the shortsightedness and selfishness of bankers and rating agencies for causing the recent financial crisis. The president and his supporters, historians will note, were equally shortsighted and self-centered — though their quest was for political glory, not financial gain.

The anti-Stupak

Dan Benishek.

His Facebook page has gone from 2000 friends to over 13,500 in about 14 hours.

Update: 20:30 3/22: 16,961 friends. That’s about 309 friends per hour or 5 new friends per minute.

Update: 12:32p 3/23: 18,603 friends. The pace has slowed, About 1640 friends in 12 hours which is about 136 per hour.

Update: 22:29 on 3/23: 19,429 friends? 826 friends were added in the last 10 hours. That’s still over 82 per hour or more than one a minute. In fact it’s now 19,431!

Physicians not feeling it.

Love for Obamacare that is.

•46.3% of primary care physicians (family medicine and internal medicine) feel that the passing of health reform will either force them out of medicine or make them want to leave medicine.
•36% of physicians would not recommend medicine as a career, regardless of health reform. 27% would recommend medicine as a career but not if health reform passes.
•62.7% of physicians feel that health reform is needed but should be implemented in a more targeted, gradual way, as opposed to the sweeping overhaul that is in legislation

Premiums fall 3000%

Good gawd, you can’t make up stuff like this. Not to mention it’s the President of the United States. Someone must have put a virus in his teleprompter or something.

If Bush had said something this stoopid it would be on every major news site in the known Universe in a nanosecond.

Obviously Obama would feel right at home with the students in the Atmospheric Science 101 class at the University of Washington that are unable to do simple math problems.
