Haiti: Fly the flag

You can’t make this stuff up.

The decision not to fly the flag is an embarrassment of weakness on the part of Obama. Our nation has conducted relief efforts for decades through our military, saving millions of people from death, disease, and starvation. Like France, Britain, and Croatia, we have flown our flag during those operations not to note occupation but to represent the American people’s solidarity with those suffering from disaster. That historical record is answer itself to the lunatics in Venezuela, Nicaragua, and even France who indulge in paranoid hysteria.

Barack Obama threatens to withdraw support from wavering Democrats

What a surprise.

Personally I don’t think that’s much of a threat, then again I’m not a Democrat.

Added 3/16 @ 22:01:

Is that a threat or a promise?

Obamacare: The Slaughter Solution

“It May Be Clever, but It Is Not Constitutional”

These constitutional rules set forth in Article I are not mere exercises in formalism. They ensure the democratic accountability of our representatives. Under Section 7, no bill can become law unless it is put up for public vote by both houses of Congress, and under Section 5 “the Yeas and Nays of the Members of either House on any question . . . shall be entered on the Journal.” These requirements enable the people to evaluate whether their representatives are promoting their interests and the public good. Democratic leaders have not announced whether they will pursue the Slaughter solution. But the very purpose of it is to enable members of the House to vote for something without appearing to do so. The Constitution was drafted to prevent that.

John Morse, you’re an idiot…

Good grief, John Morse you’re an idiot. Become a “fan” on facebook??? LOL!

Reading the comments I’d say they are at least 10:1 against Morse. Also, it’s hard to believe the people of Colorado Springs would elect an idiot like this.

Obamacare bribes

“Well of course it’s a very bad idea,” said Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. “We now have the government running banks, insurance companies, car companies, and they do want to take over the student loan business.”

We’re from the government and we’re hear to help. Be careful what you wish for.

Hey, she’s not from Boulder!

That would be Shikha Dalmia and her column on Obamacare in Forbes magazine proves it.

So why didn’t the Democrats pull back when they still had the chance? The reason is that both the Democratic Party and President Obama have mutually reinforcing blind spots that have rendered them incapable of seeing what’s crystal clear to every other sentient being in the country: This was the wrong bill at the wrong time.

Sounds like not to many “sentient beings” in Boulder!

She goes on to comment…

There are not enough taxpayers in the country or creditors in China capable of financing all these promises. Expanding this massive, multifarious entitlement state even more strikes most normal people as sheer lunacy–especially now that it is visibly coming apart at the seams.

Perhaps Shikha’s right about that “sentient being” thing.

“It’s not even about the money. It’s about control.”

That would be Colorado’s Amazon tax.

With politician’s if “control” isn’t the first motivation it’s always a close 2nd to the $$’s. With progrssive politicians from the Boulder area “control” beats $$’s a vast majority of the time. Of course, when their running out of money to actually enforce the control…. well that’s a problem. I say, “Bring on more problems”.

The Reagan Test

Interesting

As the Texas textbook battle continues to simmer, Schweikart says the first thing he does to determine whether a book is politically slanted is to go to any section discussing President Ronald Reagan. What you’ll find there, he says, will tell you everything you need to know, he says.

Schweikart says the majority of books he’s examined credit former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev with ending the Cold War, and not Reagan. That’s “a joke,” Schweikart says. “I lived through the Reagan years, I remember.”

“The reason why textbooks get to where they are is because this is the world view of (a) the people who write the text books, (b) people who edit the text books, and (c) people who publish them,” the history professor says.

Schweikart says the textbooks’ authors bring an inherently liberal viewpoint to their work.

I’ll have to check the texts being used in the local school district. Based on the teachers I’ve interacted with I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the books fail the Reagan test. I’m fairly certain the teachers do.

Obama Justice Department drops ACORN Investigation

No surprise. Since it’s the right kind of voter fraud, it’s not an issue that concerns the editorial staff at the Daily Camera.

The Boulder lens

Here is how one Boulderite views the Tea Party movement. I believe it’s safe to say that view is shared by a majority of citizens in the 25 square miles surrounded by reality.

Here’s another view by someone that’s actually written speeches for candidates speaking before various Tea Party meetings. Jazz comes away with a much more complex and textured view of the Tea Party movement than the Daily Camera author.

It’s no surprise. The Boulder progressive know-it-alls see no reason to expand their horizons.

Not in Boulder!

Oh my: 68% now oppose passing ObamaCare without Republican support

In Boulder, a Republican is a non-entity. If you are introduced to a new acquaintance, they will automatically assume you’re a Democrat. They won’t bother to probe, they’ll speak to you with the confidence that they are having a conversation with a like minded person.

Pushing the healthcare agenda

Why would the Obama administration worry about the economy when the more financial stress the general population is under the easier it is to pass his health care agenda? If you think his priorities should be reversed, you’re not a “true believer”.
