Feed me Seymour. Fannie and Freddie just can’t get enough.
In case you’re keeping score, that would bring Fannie’s cash to almost $85 billion. Freddie has spent over $50 billion. Under the original terms of the bailout, they would have already used more than half of the $200 billion Congress allocated for their rescue. The Obama administration lifted that limit in December, however, so neither GSE needs to worry about running out of cash. Only taxpayers have to worry about that, apparently.
This describes the Boulder media and progressive elites in their efforts to understand the Tea Party movement…
It’s like watching a 3 year old struggle with a jigsaw puzzle for AGES 14 AND UP
Here’s a more direct link and the concluding paragraphs….
Here’s an explanation of the Tea Party for Misters Blow and Lilla that any three year old could understand. Federal spending and the expansion of government under eight years of George W. Bush was bad. Under Obama, it’s already worse.
Libertarianism is not the enemy and the Tea Party movement is not racist.
Now who wants a cookie?!
I’m sure it also applies to the Boulder progressive elites, not to mention newspaper editors…
Boulder city council gets an earful on their decision to ban city sponsored trips to Arizona.
The comments are well worth reading. Why this is a surprise to anyone who voted for the present council members is beyond me.
Boulder suspends official travel to Arizona over immigration law
The city of Boulder will immediately suspend sending any employees to Arizona on business, and may take additional action against the state, in a show of opposition to its wide-reaching new immigration law.
City Manager Jane Brautigam on Wednesday morning sent a memo to all department directors ordering them to cancel any plans to travel to Arizona for conferences or other city business, even if the tickets have been paid for.
Two comments:
You can’t find politicians and government officials more predictable than those in Boulder City government.
Earth to Boulder progressives…
The narrative of Tea Party racism has been a contrived political tactic from the start, launched and perpetuated by Democratic Party operatives and their mouthpieces in the media and left-wing blogosphere.
Horror of horrors, the source article for the above posting is from the left wing journalistic equivalent of “god”.
Repeat after me “It’s all about the money”….
Of course it’s not “ALL” about the money but you can be damn sure it’s ALOT about the money.
Red light camera’s, of course not! LOL.
I’ll vote with Warren…
Hey, $15/second off of Goldman Sachs!
Yes, the real scandal isn’t how Arizona is treating illegals, it’s how the Federal government treats people who try to legally immigrate.
More here.
The “One” has trouble with dissension.
Grow up and get a thick skin. Of course, if it was going to happen it already would have.
The better half was privileged enough to partake in a survey regarding Boulder County open space I’m sure funded by Boulder County in partnership with Talmey-Drake.
It was a pleasure (so says my wife) to give Boulder County a piece of her (our) mind. Also, the survey was stupid in that the measurement metric was changed multiple times. No legitimate survey firm would do that unless the people wanting the survey were meddling greatly in the survey design. Boulder County meddling?
Congratulations to my alma-mater, the University of Tennessee, in protecting free speech.
Now if only they weren’t so insistent on giving Al Gore an Honorary Doctor of Laws and Humane Letters in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
In Q4 of 2009 more than twice the number of poeple renounced their citizen ship than all of 2008. We’re talking 502 people, not a large amount.

except it appears the wheels aren’t round!
Not one of its major programs has gotten started, and already the wheels are starting to come off of Obamacare. The administration’s own actuary reported on Thursday that millions of people could lose their health insurance, that health-care costs will rise faster than they would have if the law hadn’t passed, and that the overhaul will mean that people will have a harder and harder time finding physicians to see them.
Medicare Chief actuary Richard Foster is probably going to looking for a new job soon. His report includes the following highlights…
The article concludes…
Obamacare is far from settled policy. There are two more federal elections before the major provisions of the law take effect in 2014. Doctors are fighting mad, patients are scared, and companies are starting to realize that the promises of health-care-reform legislation could turn into a huge and costly burden.
The studies released today only fuel the fires to repeal and replace the health-overhaul law.
Let’s hope the author, Grace-Marie Turner, is correct. Of course, this is a problem tailor made for a continuous stream of legislative bandaids.
Here’s the link to the original report, Estimated Financial Effects of the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” as amended.

The federal securities laws require public companies, whenever they speak, to disclose all material information that would be necessary to present the truth entirely.”
GM, Fannie and Freddie are all getting a pass from the Obama administration. How can you have finance reform that ignores the corruption of Fannie and Freddie and the recent lies told by GM?
How’s that hope and change working?
I ain’t feeling it.
That should make Boulderites happy.
While you’re at it, kill a few Cows.
