Would Obama veto these GOP proposals?

Glenn Harlan Reynolds/Instapundit USA Today Column: 6 bills the GOP should pass.

  1. End the federally imposed 21-year-old drinking age.
  2. Decriminalize marijuana at the federal level.

Follow link for other 4.

I can support all 6 of these proposals. Decriminalizing marijuana at the Federal level makes sense, there are better ways to spend our tax dollars, not to mention tax collections from its sale. Its classification as a Schedule 1 drug is a combination of idiocy, pure government incompetence and a healthy does of malice.

I’m not nearly so enthusiastic about state legalization as it seems to have brought a level of chaos to Colorado and the associated drug trade in the surrounding states. That said, there are a lot more important things to worry about. I’m willing to entertain the experiment and in fact it’s happening right in front of my eyes (no not literally).

Brandy Clark Enjoying Big Buzz Ahead of CMAs – ABC News

Brandy Clark Enjoying Big Buzz Ahead of CMAs – ABC News.

“I had been passed on a lot,” said Clark, 37, during a recent interview at her management office on Music Row. “I think it’s because I didn’t really fit what is a mainstream country artist. I was over 30 and over a size 2. I was kinda more your average woman than your average super model, which is why my music resonates though.”

To call her a dark horse in the awards show is somewhat of an understatement. She’s the only female artist in the new artist category and her album didn’t get one single on the country charts. While the rest of country music is awash in good-time party feelings, she’s singing dark, edgy tales about infidelity, divorce, murderous lovers and painkiller addiction.

Sounds like an interesting artist. Might have to check out her music!

Colorado Early Voting Swamps Udall

PJ Media » Colorado Early Voting Swamps Udall.

Every voter in Colorado will receive a mail-in ballot this year and Udall is getting swamped by the GOP wave of envelopes.

The NBC News/Marist Poll released Oct. 26 showed Udall trailed among those who have already voted by 12 points.

And those damn Men, tired of the whole “war on women” theme…

The NBC News/Marist Poll showed the gender gap has widened, with men as the driving force behind the gains for Gardner. He now leads Udall among men by 15 points, up from 5 points.

In the Governor’s race, the “war on women” blowback is even larger judging by the latest Quinnipiac poll.

Men back Beauprez 54 – 33 percent, compared to 49 – 41 percent last week. This overwhelms Hickenlooper’s 47 – 37 percent lead among women.

Inquiring minds want to know how many “bodies” can the Democrats get registered to vote between now and whenever the election ends?

It can’t happen soon enough, I’m tired of the pollution on the airwaves.

Beauprez 49%, Hickenlooper 47%

Election 2014: Colorado Governor – Rasmussen Reports™.

I’ve heard a number of unsolicited comments from Democrats that they are unhappy with Obama and the party in general. If the general mood carries to the mail in voting ballot, then Beauprez wins.

Of course, as Instapundit reminds us….

But remember, you have to beat the margin of fraud.

You can view all of Glenn’s margin of fraud postings here.

Gardner 51%, Udall 45%

Election 2014: Colorado Senate – Rasmussen Reports™.

Colorado is home to one of the most crucial races for Republicans to take control of the U.S. Senate, and it appears to be slipping away from Democratic Senator Mark Udall in the final stretch.

Well… good! The whole “war on women” theme that the Mark ‘The Uteru’ Udall ran was pathetic.

Nothing to see here, move along.

Brings to memory when the hospital wouldn’t let my Mom leave without a flu shot. It took over 3 hours before someone showed up to give her a shot. We were quite angry by that time.

BoCo Transportation Budget Meeting Tuesday 9:30a

Tuesday, October 28th, 9:30 AM

Public Hearing

Boulder County Transportation Budget

Mark your calendars. This coming Tuesday at 9:30 AM, the Boulder County Transportation Department will present its 2015 Budget request to the County Commissioners.

When: Tuesday, October 28th, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
Where:     Boulder County Courthouse
1325 Pearl Street,
3rd Floor Hearing Room
Boulder, CO  80302

Schedule: 9:30 am Transportation Department presents their 2015 Budget request
Public Testimony – immediately following the Transportation’s budget request
Let the Commissioners hear directly from you that you want our roads fixed starting in 2015. Public testimony will be taken at the meeting. If you would like to speak, we encourage you to show up prior to the start of the meeting to enter your name on the speaker’s list.

In years past, few if any people would show up as the Transportation Department would leave out the maintenance of our Subdivision Roads from their budget. The lack of interest would be taken as an indication that we accepted having our roads ignored. Now is the time to let the Commissioners know that this practice is no longer acceptable.

If you can’t make the meeting, please send your comments to the Commissioners by email to: commissioners@bouldercounty.org, by mail to: Boulder County Commissioners’ Office, P.O. Box 471, Boulder, CO 80306, or by phone at: 303-441-3500

The Courts have made it perfectly clear – the County must maintain our roads.

How will the County respond?

In addition to dissolving the LID, removing liens from our homes and returning our money which the County had illegally collected, the Court has made it perfectly clear that Boulder County is responsible for fixing our roads and for paying for the job. The Court stated that:
  1. Boulder County is a sub unit of the state government and must complete those functions that are required in state statutes.
  2. By state statute our subdivision roads are Boulder county roads and the county has an obligation to maintain our roads.
  3. That maintenance is maintenance and that Boulder County had failed to maintain subdivision roads as required by state statute.
At the budget hearing we will see whether or not the County will move forward and comply with the Court’s order.

Keep the heat on Boulder County. JOIN BOCO FIRM.

Udall and the gender gap

The gender gap that could mean GOP victory in Colorado | WashingtonExaminer.com.

There is a gender gap in the Senate race here in Colorado, and, contrary to popular perception, it is Mark Udall’s problem.

The race between the incumbent Democratic senator and his Republican challenger, Rep. Cory Gardner, has at times been a mire of gender politics. For months, Udall attacked Gardner incessantly on the issues of abortion and birth control, in an effort to run up an advantage among women voters so large that it would ensure victory on Nov. 4.

But that’s not how things are working out. According to a variety of public and private polling, while Udall enjoys a lead among Colorado women, Gardner has a far bigger advantage among men. The difference is so pronounced that if it continues through election day, Gardner will win.

The incessant harping on one issue shows the intellectual shallowness of Mark Udall and his campaign team.

New Policy Cancellations in Colorado

Gardner Comments On Thousands of New Policy Cancellations | Cory Gardner for Senate.

In a letter to the Colorado Senate Republicans today, the Colorado Division of Insurance announced that an additional 18,783 Coloradans have had their health insurance policy cancelled in the last month due to ObamaCare and 192,942 Coloradans will have their policies cancelled next year.

The total number of policies cancelled in Colorado will exceed 550,000 once ObamaCare has been fully implemented in Colorado.

“Coloradans continue to pay the price for Senator Udall’s broken promise,” said Cory Gardner. “It’s unfortunate Senator Udall has been so eager to please President Obama that he has forgotten thousands of Coloradans across our state. Colorado deserves a Senator who will put Colorado first and partisan politics last.”

Senator Udall promised Coloradans that if they liked their health care plan, they would be able to keep it under ObamaCare.

Yes he did, and to refresh your memory this is what he said:

“If you have an insurance policy you like, doctor or medical facility that provides medical services to you, you’ll be able to keep that doctor or that insurance policy.”

That was a lie, and anyone who did even a little footwork knew that at the time.

“…you look around the table and can’t tell who’s the sucker – it’s you’ “

Or as the full Paul Newman quote goes…

‘If you’re playing poker and you look around the table and can’t tell who’s the sucker – it’s you’

Keep that in mind as you read this piece, A THEATRICAL APPROACH TO TEACHING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE COLLEGE OF LAW, and watch the video.

As I commented at the link…

All potential jurors should watch this video. While they are watching they should keep in mind this Paul Newman quote, “‘If you’re playing poker and you look around the table and can’t tell who’s the sucker – it’s you’ .

That’s the attitude a juror needs to have because they are the “suckers” who got chosen and everyone in the courtroom is trying to manipulate them. In fact, they were being evaluated for their ability to be manipulated during the jury selection process.

This video should be made mandatory viewing by all potential jurors. A bit on jury nullification wouldn’t be a bad idea either, but one small step at a time.

Will Orange be the New Black for IRS Chief Lois Lerner?

Inquiring minds want to know!… Will Orange be the New Black for IRS Chief Lois Lerner? | New York Observer.

Perhaps there is some strange computer virus that selectively trashes records inconvenient to incumbents, like the “glitch” that erased part of Nixon’s tapes. How else to explain the fact that this is the fourth announcement of an ever-expanding computer calamity connected to Lois Lerner to emerge from the IRS?  First it was just Lerner’s computer that was affected, then those of her closest co-conspirators, then “no more than twenty” computers, and now an ever larger batch of burned out workstations.

That’s one heckuva strange virus. It must be related to the virus that misleads the Legacy/MSM to believe they are presenting a true picture of this scandal to the general public. Public shaming is not adequate punishment for the MSM’s negligence.
