BoCo Transportation Budget Meeting Tuesday 9:30a

Tuesday, October 28th, 9:30 AM

Public Hearing

Boulder County Transportation Budget

Mark your calendars. This coming Tuesday at 9:30 AM, the Boulder County Transportation Department will present its 2015 Budget request to the County Commissioners.

When: Tuesday, October 28th, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
Where:     Boulder County Courthouse
1325 Pearl Street,
3rd Floor Hearing Room
Boulder, CO  80302

Schedule: 9:30 am Transportation Department presents their 2015 Budget request
Public Testimony – immediately following the Transportation’s budget request
Let the Commissioners hear directly from you that you want our roads fixed starting in 2015. Public testimony will be taken at the meeting. If you would like to speak, we encourage you to show up prior to the start of the meeting to enter your name on the speaker’s list.

In years past, few if any people would show up as the Transportation Department would leave out the maintenance of our Subdivision Roads from their budget. The lack of interest would be taken as an indication that we accepted having our roads ignored. Now is the time to let the Commissioners know that this practice is no longer acceptable.

If you can’t make the meeting, please send your comments to the Commissioners by email to: commissioners@bouldercounty.org, by mail to: Boulder County Commissioners’ Office, P.O. Box 471, Boulder, CO 80306, or by phone at: 303-441-3500

The Courts have made it perfectly clear – the County must maintain our roads.

How will the County respond?

In addition to dissolving the LID, removing liens from our homes and returning our money which the County had illegally collected, the Court has made it perfectly clear that Boulder County is responsible for fixing our roads and for paying for the job. The Court stated that:
  1. Boulder County is a sub unit of the state government and must complete those functions that are required in state statutes.
  2. By state statute our subdivision roads are Boulder county roads and the county has an obligation to maintain our roads.
  3. That maintenance is maintenance and that Boulder County had failed to maintain subdivision roads as required by state statute.
At the budget hearing we will see whether or not the County will move forward and comply with the Court’s order.

Keep the heat on Boulder County. JOIN BOCO FIRM.
