50 days or 7 years, one thing’s for sure…

they’re hypocrites.

As I say, we may not understand climate change, but we do know when we are victims of a fraud.

Stop the Government Takeover

Stimulus should be good for Boulder

According to the Mercatus Center,

The Mercatus Center analysis also found that Democratic congressional districts received on average almost double the funding of Republican congressional districts. Republican congressional districts received on average $232 million in stimulus funds while Democratic districts received $439 million on average.

So I have one simple question for Boulder or the State of whomever….

Why can’t you complete work on the stoplight at the intersection of Hwy 36 and North Broadway?

This project has been a work in progress for how many months? I’d say at least five. If the purpose of the stimulus is to create new jobs, then why don’t you hire some people to get the job done?

Admittedly it’s close to completion, but it appears the main goal is to have signs up advertising how great our government and Gov. Ritter are, not in completing the project.

Perhaps our local paper will enlighten us on how many jobs this project has created and why the project is not yet completed. What say Daily Camera?

CSAP and opt out

For readers outside of Colorado, CSAP stands for Colorado Student Assessment Program. My question….

I have heard of Parents opting their students out of CSAP. Is it possible to opt your student out of a single CSAP test but have them take the others?

Wild Horses

I saw the Stones in Jacksonville Florida many years ago. I was not particularly knowledgeable regarding Stones music and this song caught me totally by surprise.

Note these video’s are not embeds. Click on the links and a new window will open.

Delay the vote…

Erick Erickson at Redstate gives advice to Republican Senators on delaying tactics. We’re talking about 1/7th of the economy, it’s time to stand up and be counted.

Doing something…

we just can’t tell you what it is. That apparently applies to even the Democrats own leadership.

Responding to a complaint by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) that Republicans haven’t been told what’s in the new bill, Durbin, the number two Democrat in the Senate, responded that he’s in the same position.

“I would say to the senator from Arizona that I’m in the dark almost as much as he is. And I’m in the leadership,” Durbin said on the Senate floor.

One can only hope that Rich Lowry is correct in his assertion that the Reid bill is “tottering”

The Reid bill is really tottering now. “If this thing falls apart, you can look back to today as the tipping point,” says a Republican aide in the Senate, echoing what Lamar Alexander notes in the Costa post below. First, there was last night’s CNN poll showing 61 percent opposition. Then, there was the devastating CMS report today. “Nobody went to the floor that I could see to defend it on the Democratic side,” says the aide. The back-drop for all this is the non-deal that Reid hyped as a break-through earlier this week, only to have it unravel almost immediately. Even Bill Nelson says the Medicare buy-in is basically a “non-starter.”

How’s that Hope and Change and new openness in government working out?

Support for Healthcare reform falling fast

At least the Senate version. From CNN…

As you may know, the U.S. Senate is considering a bill that would make major changes in the country’s health care system. Based on what you have read or heard about that bill, do you generally favor it or generally oppose it?

Dec. 2-3 2009
Favor 36%
Oppose 61%
No opinion 4%

The same question a month ago…

Nov. 13-15 2009
Favor 46%
Oppose 49%
No opinion 5%

Wow, a 10% slide in less than one month. Details here.

Plain and simple, whatever they pass is going to be radioactive. And yet, they’ve convinced themselves that passing nothing would be worse. Would it?

Why the Democrats like Cap and Trade

Powerline quotes the UK Telegraph on Cap and Trade corruption…

Rob Wainwright, the director of serious crime squad, said large-scale organised criminal activity had “endangered the credibility” of the current carbon trading system.

and they conclude…

One would think. Of course, if you’re a Democrat pushing to adopt cap-and-trade here in the U.S., the opportunities for fraud and political patronage are precisely what make the scheme so attractive.

In the short term I believe that’s quite accurate. Over time, the corruption would no doubt reach into both political parties.

The issue is as long as the corruption was limited to the Democratic party, it would be soft-balled, just like Climategate. It would only become a legacy media issue when the corruption reached into the Republican Party
