News the Denver Post and the (Boulder) Daily Camera can use

Newspapers Increasingly Dump Obama For Romney

Newspaper endorsements may not mean much these days, given their declining readership and influence. But they clearly show the disaffection many liberals have with Obama’s economic stewardship.

And they are a good indicator of where the political momentum lies, which as the election draws near, is clearly with Romney.

Guess these papers missed the memo.

Affordable Care Act Score: Breast 44, Prostate 0

Ann Althouse: via Christine Hoff Summers…  “The Affordable Care Act mentions ‘breast’ 44 times, ‘prostate’ not once.”

Ann speculates on 5 reasons this may be the case. Here is reason #4, follow the link for the others:

Women actually need and deserve more care. Men are expendable. There is a shared social interest in preserving the women for reproductive purposes, for the maintenance of stable households, for the nurturing of children, and for looking after the elderly.

Men, it’s at least time to start paying attention. From the original article:

The average lifespan of American men is five years shorter than women’s, and men contract the big diseases several years earlier. According to the American Cancer Society, men’s lifetime risk of developing cancer is approximately 1 in 2; for women, it is 1 in 3. But the Act is informed by the spirit of NOW and other women’s organizations such as the American Association of University Women. It would never occur to these groups that the health and longevity of men are matters of interest to women. To them, relations between the sexes are a zero-sum game — and their role is to fight for women and against men.

Perhaps because the health and longeivty of men are NOT matters of interest to women?

Thanks goodness the President who did all this isn’t a Republican; otherwise the media just might be upset.

Internet FAIL: The truth about that Tea Party sorority girl you saw on Facebook

For many, the meme was too delicious not to believe and share. It has gone viral on Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook. It even made the FAIL blog. And everywhere it goes, a legion of trolls follows, bloviating about that illiterate trailer trash from Alabama and all the nasty, unrepeatable things that should happen to her.

But there’s one problem – nothing about the story is true.

Actually, this is a story well worth reading regardless of your political affiliation. It’s a (true) tale of a joke, albeit it in poor taste, spiraling out of control.

IBD: Stand-Down Order In Benghazi Attack Still A Mystery

Why? Seems to me that shouldn’t be a hard question to answer.

In an interview with Denver News 9 reporter Kyle Clark on Friday, President Obama dodged the question of whether cries for help were ignored and who gave the orders, saying only: “The election has nothing to do with four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened.”

Oh, yes it does, Mr. President, just as it did in 1980.

You are the commander in chief, and the American people want to know what you did when the phone was ringing at 3 a.m. and why no help was sent.

At least President Carter tried to send help. You didn’t. Why? And we don’t need some lame excuse about faulty intelligence.

YES IT DOES.

Now imagine if the administration was Republican.

Bradley Hartgraves letter to the editor in the Denver Post. (2nd letter at link). From the comments:

goodspkr: I don’t like dealing with hypotheticals, so lets look at reality. The Valerie Plame incident wasn’t anything near what happened in Benghazi. No one was killed, no (one-Ed) was refused help, no one was told to stand down during it. But the NY Times ran 90 front page articles on Plame gate. So far on Benghazi they’ve run zero front page stories

I’m not sure if the Denver Post and the MSM in general realize this letter is meant for them.

Diplomad 2.0: Do Elections Have Consequences? Ask Brian Terry and Christopher Stevens

With some honorable exceptions, few journalists have shown themselves willing to delve into the muck of either scandal and do the job one would expect from journalists. The media has sought to help Obama spike the football on the Bin Laden story and to help spike the stories behind “Fast and Furious” and Benghazi. Where the Obama misadministration has miscalculated, of course, as I have stated many times, is with the attitude of the career bureaucracy; those bureaucrats might have voted for Obama, but they will not throw themselves on the grenade for him or Hillary. That is the “X” factor in the scandal as we see from the steady drip-drip-drip of information emerging from the labyrinths of State, CIA, and the Pentagon.

Few journalists. Why so few?

Mainstream media watchdogs are toothless covering Obama and Libya scandal

MSM/Legacy media, read about your lack of reporting at Fox News. You really should.

But what is the mainstream media’s excuse for cautiously engaging the president on Libya? Aren’t we supposed to be watchdogs? The ongoing story is story focused on whether the Obama administration provided, or refused to provide, adequate protection for the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya when it faced the threat of attack on Sept. 11. The attack left the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans dead. Subsequent conflicting accounts coming from the administration on how the White House responded, or didn’t respond, are tailor-made for a full-blown media feeding frenzy.

Yet, the so-called media watchdogs so far have been mostly toothless.

Indeed they have been and continue to be. Follow the link for example after example. But the conclusion is damning…

So what’s going on here? Are the media just protecting Obama at a critical time in this election campaign, or are they just not following the latest CIA story because they would have to give credit to Fox News?

Whatever the reason, it is not good watchdog journalism.

No wonder Fox News has been and continues to be so successful. This is real story that is being ignored by almost all of the major news outlets. Doesn’t fit the narrative does it? Doesn’t help Obama win re-election does it?

Petraeus Throws Obama Under the Bus

“No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate. ”

So I’ve looked at:

  • cnn.com
  • msn.com
  • nytimes.com

No mention on the front page of any of these web sites in regards to Benghazi.

The Legacy Media should be ashamed.

Over at Small Dead Animals they have noticed the same but in greater detail. Courtesy of Small Dead Animals, I found this cartoon:

As Romney Expands Battlefield Media Claims He Peaked Too Soon

Listen, the CorruptMedia is known as the CorruptMedia for a reason — they’re liars and charlatans and hustlers all gaming The Narrative to boost whatever’s left of Obama’s chances. And make no mistake, Obama still does have a chance. Eleven days is a long time and Chicago and its media pals have all kinds of kitchen sinks packed away somewhere.

But Romney did not peak too soon.

Hold tight. Fight. Have fun doing both.

Will do.
