Dems try to manipulate Colorado GOP primary

Dems try to manipulate Colorado GOP primary against Bob Beauprez with pro-Tancredo ads – Washington Times.

Uugh. This is certainly an argument against open primaries. It is all to easy to imagine Colorado Progressives voting for Tancredo to provide Hickenlooper with an easily defeatable candidate.

Of course, there’s the moral question about the opposing party tinkering in the other’s primary, but I suspect it comes down to a case of the “pot calling the kettle black”.

LIving wage surtax

Linving wage‘Unexpected’: Are SeaTac, Wash., businesses adding a surcharge to pay for the new minimum wage? [pic] | Twitchy.

It’s a real stretch to call this an unintended consequence. Only a Progressive couldn’t see this coming. Of course, getting rid of the surtax is simply another law away. Talk about the death of common sense.

‘Wow!’ And so it begins: White House smears vets, claims ‘swift boating’ of Bergdahl

‘Wow!’ And so it begins: White House smears vets, claims ‘swift boating’ of Bergdahl | Twitchy.

Unreal. Putting the lives of our brave troops at risk by releasing five Taliban leaders wasn’t enough, apparently. Now the White House has to smear those who put their lives on the line for this country.

Perhaps if they hadn’t left the Intel community “out of the loop” they could have seen this coming. Color me pessimistic. Color me optimistic that they will keep digging a bigger and bigger hole for themselves.

Seems like a great time to resurrect this picture:

You can’t fix stupid…

Never Say “I Kill White People Like You” When Asked To Turn Off Your Phone Post-Takeoff | The Smoking Gun.

Here’s a picture just so you know what stupid looks like.

Added 6/6/2014 from KHOU news in Houston.

Williams was arrested and charged with assault.

According to court documents, the other passenger claimed Williams said, “I kill white people like you” and threatened to follow her in Houston and “find out where she lived.”

“I told them I did not say that,” said Williams.  “I would never say anything along those lines.”

Williams’ long-time boyfriend, who she was visiting in Nashville, happens to be white.

KHOU 11 News reached out to the other passenger on the plane. She didn’t return our calls.

Williams said her smartphone is still missing and so is an explanation.

“I cannot believe for the life of me that she would make up something like that,” said Williams.

Williams is due back in Nashville to face a judge on June 25.

“Boy, when even outlets like NPR and ABC are reporting this story, it’s bad news for the White House.”

proclaims Instapundit regarding the POW trade for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.   Vets Accuse Bowe Bergdahl of Walking Away

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney defended the administration’s swap of an American prisoner of war for five Taliban leaders, saying the move did not threaten U.S. security.

“It was absolutely the right thing to do because the United States does not leave our men and women behind in armed conflict,” Carney said about the release of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was freed from five years of captivity in Afghanistan.

Which makes one really really wonder (and to echo liberals and progessives I might add), why the hell is Guantanamo still open?  Especially since incompetent President Obama promised to close it. Must be that “incompetent” thingy.

Issa starts to pull back the curtain on “Operation Choke Point”

Justice Department secretly stifling ‘objectionable’ businesses: House committee | WashingtonExaminer.com.

The report, released Thursday by panel chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., accuses the Justice Department of abusing its authority by going after the payday lending industry and other merchants and working to put them out of business.

According to the report, the Justice Department “secretly” discouraged banks from conducting business with groups deemed to be “high risk,” for triggering a federal investigation.

The program, according to Issa’s report, has “forced” banks to end relationships with many legitimate businesses, in particular internet payday loan companies.

The operation is being used to target a widening list of businesses that fall under the high risk label, the report found, and could eventually be utilized to stop merchants who sell firearms, credit repair services, dating services, coins, pharmaceuticals and even magazine subscriptions from obtaining financial services from banks.

These businesses have been found by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to be conducting “high-risk activity.”

Budget cut. Whatever government employees that are working on this are expendable. I’m willing to start with their managers.

If you can’t figure out that you’re actually a Principal engineer, perhaps you shouldn’t be one.

These men’s lives were just as valuable as the women’s lives.

UCSB Killer | 4 Young Men Dead | Countering Feminist Rants.

I have no doubt the two young women who died, Veronika Weiss and Katherine Breann Cooper, were equally as special in their lives as these men were.

However, the deaths of these young men is no less painful to bear and their loss is to be mourned, too.

Prayers for the spirits of all these young people and the consolation of their families.

Voters in California contemplate forming new state

Wow, sure founds familiar for us here in Colorado. Voters in California contemplate forming new state – Yahoo News.

Residents of California’s largely rural, agrarian and politically conservative far northern counties long ago got used to feeling ignored in the state Capitol and out of sync with major urban areas.

The idea of forming their own state has been a topic among local secession dreamers for more than a century. Residents in two counties will have a chance to voice that sentiment next week.

I’m sure these citizens will be ridiculed by the “legacy media”  just as similarly minded citizens were here in Colorado.

How’s that “Tax the Rich” thing working out?

Just ask France – Bad news: France in $14b euro hole after overestimating the haul from that swell 75% millionaire tax « Hot Air.

French President Francois Hollande has raised income tax, VAT and corporation tax since he was elected two years ago.

The Court of Auditors said receipts from all three taxes amounted to an extra 16bn euros in 2013.

That was a little more than half the government’s forecast of 30bn euros of extra tax income.

Yea, I’d call that bad news. Time to come up with a new strategy and a new President.

Justice Dept. chokes out ‘undesirable’ businesses

Justice Dept. chokes out ‘undesirable’ businesses | Human Events.

Where do we go to vote against the Commissar of Undesirable Businesses, if we decide we disagree with his or her judgments… once we penetrate the veil of secrecy and discover those judgments have been rendered?

No one’s even pretending DOJ had anything resembling the authority to do this.  As we’ve seen time and again during the Obama years – and a few times before that – a government agency simply decided something was a good idea, and did it.  It feels right, so it must be legal.

Wow, sounds like the purpose of the Boulder County Land Use regulations.

I have an idea, perhaps Boulder City Council could get the DOJ to “choke” Walmart out of town?

News you can use: Urine is not sterile

Confirmed: Urine is not sterile | Fox News.

Hilt said, when a screening method for kidney infections was developed. It was a simple and easy test that was soon applied to bladder infections, too.

But the test involved culturing only a small amount of urine in open air, at a temperature of 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius) for 24 hours. Not all bacteria grow in those conditions.

Government gridlock

Wow, just wow – Obama blames ‘structural’ design of Congress for gridlock – Washington Times.

Live with it Mr. Obama. You sound like and you ARE a whining spoiled brat. You are the 44th President of the United States, 43 Presidents before you have survived and you will to.

Of course, with your arrogance and “my way or the highway attitude” combined with a total lack of negotiating skills (see arrogance and my way….) it’s no wonder you are a whining and spoiled brat.

The fact of the matter is you were TOTALLY unprepared for the job and due to your arrogance have done nothing to try and improve yourself. You, sir, are a loser.

Adam Schiff Vows to Scream Bloody Murder on GOP Abuse

No reason to have an interest in uncovering the truth or anything – Adam Schiff Vows to Scream Bloody Murder on GOP Abuse | Mediaite.

And on Rachel Maddow‘s show last night, Schiff explained they decided to participate to keep the Republicans from making it a partisan, stunt-driven affair.

Why would Democrats want to do that? Sounds like a perfect time to let the Republican’s self destruct.

Survivor: Never watched, think I’ll keep it that way

Survivor Is The Most Morally Contemptible Show On TV.

Now, it’s only a dumb TV show, I know. But I do wonder why it can’t be structured to reward virtue on occasion. I wonder why juries of real-life people, when left to make their own rules, would default to favoring the unscrupulous rather than the honorable. It’s conceivable that no one would watch a show that rewarded good behavior. There is no doubt that duplicity and deception makes for entertaining television (I would argue that the most entertaining show on television right now is Fargo). But somehow watching the greedy shallowness of real people is a lot more pathetic and depressing.

I wish I could find this surprising.
