Obama hates right to work law

Gov. Scott Walker Just Responded To Obamas Scolding And Its Everything Glorious – Chicks on the Right.

Hey….

“On the heels of vetoing Keystone Pipeline legislation, which would have paved the way to create thousands of quality, middle-class jobs, the President should be looking to states, like Wisconsin, as an example for how to grow our economy,” Walker said in a statement to National Review Online. “Despite a stagnant national economy and a lack of leadership in Washington, since we took office, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is down to 5.0 percent, and more than 100,000 jobs and 30,000 businesses have been created.”

Blog subdivision paving page updated

I’ve spent a few minutes updating the “News Reports” section of the subdivision paving page (see tab). It’s still far from comprehensive at this point but at least it has the major news reporting by the local media from the end of the year until today. There are still substantial gaps from August of last year until January in the news section and from August of last year to present in the other section.

Subdivision homeowners want their lawsuit against Boulder County kept alive – Longmont Times-Call

Well of course they (we) do, what a stoopid headline – Subdivision homeowners want their lawsuit against Boulder County kept alive – Longmont Times-Call.

The county argued in its February motion that the plaintiffs don’t have the legal standing to question the county commissioners’ budget decisions.

But the plaintiffs responded on Thursday that since their subdivision roads “have deteriorated to poor or fair condition because of intentional neglect by the county,” they have the legal right “to challenge the decision to withhold maintenance from subdivision roads in violation of state law.”

The homeowners suing the county have asserted that Boulder County has enough money in its annual budgets to rehabilitate and repave those roads, when needed, as well as to perform such routine road maintenance chores as plowing snow, patching cracks and filling potholes.

In their Thursday filing, the subdivision property owners said “carving out a class of county roads that will be excluded from some forms of maintenance is an unreasonable exercise of discretion and not a reasonable response to valid budgetary constraints.”

The BoCo Commissars view the county as either a source of open space or a cancer that should be starved.

Hillary Clinton’s email server traced

The arrogance and the idiocy… Hillary Clinton’s email server traced to Internet service registered to NY home | Fox News.

She’s not the only one as Fox news reports (and you believe it!??) that Republican’s have done it, albeit in amateurish fashion…

The highly unusual practice of a Cabinet-level official physically running her own email would have given Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate, impressive control over limiting access to her message archives. It also would distinguish Clinton’s secretive email practices as far more sophisticated than some politicians, including Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin, who were caught conducting official business using free email services operated by Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc.

But Hillary’s efforts were much more sophisticated.

Clinton has not described her motivation for using a private email account — hdr22(at)clintonemail.com, which traced back to her own private email server registered under an apparent pseudonym — for official State Department business.

Operating her own server would have afforded Clinton additional legal opportunities to block government or private subpoenas in criminal, administrative or civil cases because her lawyers could object in court before being forced to turn over any emails. And since the Secret Service was guarding Clinton’s home, an email server there would have been well protected from theft or a physical hacking.

But homebrew email servers are generally not as reliable, secure from hackers or protected from fires or floods as those in commercial data centers. Those professional facilities provide monitoring for viruses or hacking attempts, regulated temperatures, off-site backups, generators in case of power outages, fire-suppression systems and redundant communications lines.

If she pleads stoopid, then she’s not qualified to be President. If she pleads sophisticated, she doesn’t have the morals to be President. If I were here, I’d fall back on her main excuse, “what difference does it make,” as that seems to work.

Hillary Clinton is STOOPID: Used Personal Email Account at State Dept

Hillary Clinton Used Personal Email Account at State Dept., Possibly Breaking Rules – NYTimes.com. I’m late to the party on this, but I’m confused about how moral people would allow this to happen. One can only assume that people who Hillary emailed are NOT moral people and put her interests above those of the United States of America.

Her expansive use of the private account was alarming to current and former National Archives and Records Administration officials and government watchdogs, who called it a serious breach.

“It is very difficult to conceive of a scenario — short of nuclear winter — where an agency would be justified in allowing its cabinet-level head officer to solely use a private email communications channel for the conduct of government business,” said Jason R. Baron, a lawyer at Drinker Biddle & Reath who is a former director of litigation at the National Archives and Records Administration.

A spokesman for Mrs. Clinton, Nick Merrill, defended her use of the personal email account and said she has been complying with the “letter and spirit of the rules.”

Under federal law, however, letters and emails written and received by federal officials, such as the secretary of state, are considered government records and are supposed to be retained so that congressional committees, historians and members of the news media can find them. There are exceptions to the law for certain classified and sensitive materials.

One has to wonder “what was she thinking” but then again, “what difference does it make?”

SEATTLE’S MINIMUM WAGE CRASH: $15 to ZERO!

“That’s a lot of job loss, a lot of new people with a new wage of ZERO.”

A socialists dream, making more people dependent on government – SEATTLE’S MINIMUM WAGE CRASH: $15 to ZERO! Profits Tumble!. Coming soon to Boulder!

Seattle, Washington, one of the strongest remaining bastions of liberal philosophy left in the country, passed a phased-in $15 minimum wage law earlier this year. The highest minimum wage in the country. The vote was unanimous and the throng outside cheered, but for many this is a loss from which they will never recover. It is a blow to the profitability of businesses that they just can’t take.

According to the National Review Hotline, Kathrina Tugadi owner of Seattle’s El Norte Lounge, no longer hires musicians for her restaurant, she said she can’t justify expenses that don’t directly “add to the bottom line.” And, she says, hours will have to be cut: El Norte Lounge plans to stop serving lunch and only serve dinner.

“I am concerned about my business and others in the community, but it isn’t just about any one business. It’s about how the entire economic community,” she said. El Norte may be unable to remain open once the ordinance is fully in effect, she said. Even Pagliacci Pizza, a Seattle-area pizza chain, is considering moving its call center and some of its production facilities outside the city. That’s a lot of job loss, a lot of new people with a new wage of ZERO. (emphasis added)

Socialist Council-member Kshama Sawant was the main proponent of the $15 ordinance. She and her supporters denied that the policy change would hurt businesses in the city. In one interview, Sawant said there need be “no unintended consequences.”

No unintended consequences? A dream world only a socialist could live in. Of course, the consequence is more people dependent on government handouts, not an issue for the likes of Kshama Savant or members of Boulder City Council.

“No Unintended Consequences?” Who is she kidding? There are always consequences. In this case the consequences are the businesses that are downsizing, closing and failing, jobs that are lost, and most of all, people whose new hourly wage is ZERO. No unintended intended consequences? Are our politicians really that . . . stupid? Yes, I said it, Stupid. Do they really think taxes are irrelevant, businesses are omnipotent and that they can be drained in the name of politics without “any intended consequences?”

Yes they do. I suggest you read the whole thing, Here’s the conclusion…

Seattle is the first city in the country to pass a $15 minimum wage. Survey results suggested it will be the first city to find out why it was such a bad idea.

No matter how badly we would like it to be otherwise, there are always consequences,  and 2+2 will always equal 4.

Perhaps but with the pseudo intellectual Progressives running cities such as Seattle and Boulder and our children learning Common Core math, I believe we will see more minimum wage bills passed.

Red Light Cameras: It’s all about safety

Colorado towns fret loss of traffic cameras. NOT.

A collection of Colorado mayors and police chiefs, led by a coalition funded by the traffic camera industry, is trying to put a red light in front of a bill to ban those pesky traffic cameras used for issuing citations.

House Bill 1098 has its first hearing Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the House Transportation and Energy Committee. A similar bill failed last year.

Then the typical he said, she said…

“The data is indisputable that Colorado’s red light camera programs have successfully changed driver behavior and reduced red light running, crashes and injuries on our state’s roads.”

During testimony last year, however, Denver City Auditor Dennis Gallagher said there was no data showing Denver’s cameras had had any tangible impact on road safety.

But in the end, it’s all about the money…

Nine cities and a total of 12 communities use the cameras, collectively raking in more than $14 million last year. The margins are high. Denver, for example, collected more than $6.5 million in fines and spent just $2.6 million to operate the program, according to a legislative analysis of the bill.

Let’s take away this source of revenue. Driving is hazardous, it always has been always will be. There are many studies that show the overall affect of cameras is negligible at best.

Why would you willfully enroll your Son at the University of Colorado?

University of Colorado settles with student accused of sexual assault | WashingtonExaminer.com.

Not that enrolling in other institutions of higher learning would lead to much different results. Perhaps some insurance company should start selling “fake sexual assault accusation” insurance.

Jane would later admit to university investigators that she “may have stretched the truth” because she was “pissed off,” according to John’s lawsuit. She also told the police that she didn’t accurately describe her evening with John and that she thought he was nice guy but then “realized he’s just another douchy frat dude.”

Jane also told police that she wanted to get revenge against John for rebuffing her and wanted “the s*** to be scared out of him.”

Jane also made factually inaccurate statements to the police, including claiming she didn’t have John’s contact information despite texting him the day after the sexual encounter. Other lies, revealed during the investigation process, included Jane claiming she was forced to stay in John’s room that night, that John didn’t walk her home the morning after the encounter and that she resisted John removing her clothing.

When John brought up these lies to campus investigators, the school justified Jane’s actions on her behalf, according to the lawsuit.

Of course the facts and Jane’s own admissions don’t matter…

Ignoring Jane’s admitted credibility issues and the police investigation finding “no evidence to support the claim of sexual assault,” along with excluding John’s text message evidence, and finding John responsible based on a biased process is what led to the lawsuit.

The university found John responsible and suspended him for three terms, a punishment noted by the lawsuit as being unprecedentedly harsh. The decision, according to John’s lawsuit, came about from ignoring exculpatory evidence and allowing the investigation to go forward despite Jane admittedly lying about the encounter, wanting to get revenge and a police report finding no evidence to support the claim.

With that in mind, a settlement seemed like the best option.

Wow, a rare dose of common sense.

Not that enrolling most anywhere else would be different.

2014 was the ninth consecutive year during which the U.S. economy grew by less than 3 percent (Democrats hate Capitalism)

The Pelosi-Obama-Reid (POR) economy continues to wobble badly. | PJ Media.

Some reasons for the wobbling…

Rising minimum wage…

Not satisfied with the number of job prospects they have already ruined for those who most need their first gainful employment opportunity, President Obama continues to push for a minimum-wage increase to $10.10 per hour, while leftist fever-swamp cities like Seattle are heading towards hourly rates as high as $15. More unemployment and more of the harmful effects of idleness await.

No doubt this is coming soon from the enlightened populace of the People’s Republic of Boulder. Me… I’m for no minimum wage at all.

And the big 3 mentioned by author Tom Blumer are…

  •  The Obama administration has spent six years passive-aggressively dithering over approving the 1,200-mile Keystone Pipeline — even though the nation currently has 2.6 million miles of oil and gas pipelines in place functioning virtually without incident.

  • Operators of certain legal but politically incorrect businesses have seen their banking relationships terminated by financial institutions intimidated into their decisions by the government’s Operation Choke Point. This is a development which one observer correctly noted should be “terrifying to business owners in every industry.”

  • The administration has been operating a “shadow immigration system,” which during the past six years has issued 5.5 million work permits to non-citizens. No wonder legal U.S. citizens aren’t impressed by the government’s reported job-growth numbers.

I especially like the passive/aggressive dithering on the Keystone pipeline which amounts to 4/100 of 1% of the total pipeline mileage in the United States. Yes this pipeline requires new technology but give our pipeline engineers some credit.

Tom’s conclusion is spot on…

Thus, agenda-driven regulators are deliberately holding up economic progress and bullying existing businesses, while illegal competition undercuts citizens who want jobs. It’s utterly amazing that the U.S. economy is growing at all. Given a recent report that “fewer native-born Americans are working today than were at the end of 2007,” perhaps the “U.S. citizen economy” really hasn’t.

Madnesses such as those just described, and so many others, will continue as long as Congress is unwilling to fully exercise its power of the purse. Unless we see a miraculous change in outlook, that’s not going to happen.

Prepare for two more very rough years.

One issue that quickly comes to mind when I hear the phrase “agenda driven regulators” is the FCC’s “sudden” desire to regulate the internet. We’re looking at one of the most successful, life changing inventions in the last 20 years and suddenly the well is polluted enough that utility style government regulation is needed? Show me the problem, please. Not an imagined problem, not an isolated incident, show me the real problem.

And let’s not forget the graph at the top of this article and the correlation between Democratic control of Congress and the economy.

Two years of Democratic control of Congress followed by six years of Obamanomics have given us the worst economic performance in 62 years. (see above graph)

It’s very simple really…  Democrats hate capitalism.
