Guns, cocaine. Whose side are these guys on?
I say the budget cutting can start with the ATF. No doubt, they spend our tax dollars unwisely to put it mildly.

69% Say It’s Likely Scientists Have Falsified Global Warming Research
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of American Adults shows that 69% say it’s at least somewhat likely that some scientists have falsified research data in order to support their own theories and beliefs, including 40% who say this is Very Likely. Twenty-two percent (22%) don’t think it’s likely some scientists have falsified global warming data, including just six percent (6%) say it’s Not At All Likely. Another 10% are undecided. Investors Business Daily commenting on the Tea Parties roll in the recent debt ceiling negotiations.
First when it comes to name calling…
In just the last few days, Vice President Biden called the tea party “terrorists,” New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd called them “a maniac gang with big knives held high” and the Arizona Daily Star ran a cartoon with Obama ordering Navy SEALs to kill tea party congressmen. And that’s the civil stuff.
Sounds like something to be proud of?
They go on to conclude…
To be sure, we’ve had our differences with the tea party, but it looks to us as though it’s managing to produce something Washington hasn’t seen in a long time — bipartisan solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing the country.
Which they illustrate is something Obama hasn’t done.
Democrats will argue that Republicans are just more intransigent than they are. But the truth is that in his first two years in office, Obama didn’t need any GOP support to ram his leftist agenda through Congress, so he didn’t lift a finger to get any.
Obviously “My way or the Highway” times are over for this arrogant chief executive. In a 1 1/2 years it will be the highway out of town.
Glenn Reynolds comments…
It’s only unity and compromise when the right people get what they want.
Well, the right people did get what they want, sorta, it’s just the wrong group of ‘right people’ for the mouthpieces of the legacy media.

Waldos are apparently popping up around Boulder…
Where’s Waldo?
That’s a question a lot of Boulder residents are asking after paintings of the iconic children’s book character has popped up in recent weeks along trails, roads and on the walls of local businesses.
But what many people described as good clean fun may be short lived, as the city plans to take action to have all the Waldos removed.
Of course the lone party pooper in this whole episode is the City of Boulder government…
Jody Jacobson, a city spokeswoman, said that a city maintenance crew on Monday morning spotted a fresh Waldo on Foothills Parkway. It was painted over almost immediately.
She said the city now plans to send letters to the businesses that still have the paintings, asking them to remove the Waldos within three days. If the businesses don’t comply, the owners could be ticketed.
Jacobson said the city has not received any complaints about the paintings and officials were not aware of the extent of the paintings until Monday. But, she said, the city has a responsibility to remove unsanctioned images.
“If it’s illegal graffiti, we have to abide with the laws that are in place,” she said.
Ms. Jacobson, take a chill pill or two. Why don’t you go through all the thousands of pages of City’s rules and regulations and I bet you can find thousands of rules that either aren’t inforced or are inforced by complaint. Certainly many of the County land use regulations are inforced only by complaint. Go find somewhere else to be important. It’s almost enough to make one wonder if the City’s funding Waldo so Ms. Jacobson can go on a power trip or simply to raise revenue from business owners.
Say it ain’t so…
A federal wildlife biologist whose observation in 2004 of presumably drowned polar bears in the Arctic helped to galvanize the global warming movement has been placed on administrative leave and is being investigated for scientific misconduct, possibly over the veracity of that article.
Charles Monnett, an Anchorage-based scientist with the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement, or BOEMRE, was told July 18 that he was being put on leave, pending results of an investigation into “integrity issues.” But he has not yet been informed by the inspector general’s office of specific charges or questions related to the scientific integrity of his work, said Jeff Ruch, executive director of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility.
Ok, it says “possibly” so hold on to your hope Boulderites.
Interestingly enough, the 20 year treasury yield is stable to lower, showing now signs of worry regarding debt payment.
John Hinderaker comments on Democratic leadership on the budget….
So let’s add this up. The Republican House passed a budget–a very good one, too–within the deadlines prescribed by the Congressional Budget Act. The Senate Democrats ignored the law and refused either to agree with the House’s proposal, or adopt a budget of their own.
Next, the Republican House passed cut, cap and balance, which would have resolved the debt ceiling issue. Harry Reid refused to allow the Senate to vote on the proposal, and once again refused to come up with a plan of his own. President Obama, likewise, has refused to submit a plan other than his official FY 2012 budget, which was a joke. Obama has abandoned that proposal, but refuses to replace it with a new one.
… or lack therof.

That’s right. Just shut out the opinion of others and you can all believe your own bullshit.
Wonderful.
No doubt, Clay Evans is dancing in the street over this move by the BBC.
Glenn Reynolds comments…
Well, it worked for him before. On the other hand, this time he may want to trigger a debt-limit crisis, so that he can blame the Republicans for the economy in 2012. Idiotic as that sounds, the press will go along
