Fast and Furious and the Legacy Media

Apart from CBS News, the mainstream media has essentially ignored “Fast and Furious.” Instead of reporting on the illegal sale and transport of more than 2,000 guns, the hundreds of deaths in Mexico that resulted, and the nearly sixty Fast and Furious weapons that have been recovered at crime scenes in the United States, they have simply continued business as usual: fulfilling their self-appointed role as defenders of the ruling class.

There is no other ready explanation for why a supposedly “free press” looks the other way when “the DHS, IRS, DEA, ATF, ICE, and the Obama Justice Department” are all named under oath as being tied to Fast and Furious in one way or another. The same media personalities that still get a sparkle in their eye when talking about Watergate staunchly refuse to report on what could and should be the biggest scandal in the last fifty years.

emphasis added

Why is this? Read on.

And more kudos to Sharyl Attkisson at CBS news for uncovering Grenadewalker as well.

Police say Jean Baptiste Kingery, a U.S. citizen, was a veritable grenade machine. He’s accused of smuggling parts for as many as 2,000 grenades into Mexico for killer drug cartels — sometimes under the direct watch of U.S. law enforcement.

Law enforcement sources say Kingery could have been prosecuted in the U.S. twice for violating export control laws, but that, each time, prosecutors in Arizona refused to make a case.

It’s mindboggling isn’t it? Isn’t it? And you know what, it’s two items that are mindboggling, mindblowing, whatever…

1. The events themselves

2. The lack of reporting.

Unfortunately, the administration cover up, not so mindblowing.

Shunning conventional medical treatment

Such a Boulder thing to do. According to Dr Ramzi Amir, in Steve Jobs case, not a very smart thing to do.

‘Given the circumstances, it seems sound to assume that Mr Jobs’ choice for alternative medicine has eventually led to an unnecessarily early death.’

Harrisburg Pennsylvania files for bankruptcy

And inquiring minds want to know why….

Pennsylvania’s capital and the city of 49,000 has been struggling under a massive debt burden for years after an incinerator project ballooned to $300 million – 5 times the city’s budget. It’s the largest municipal default since Vallejo, California went under in 2008.

Surely NOTHING like that could happen in Boulder due to municipalization of Xcel’s power grid?

Well let’s think about this for a second…

“So why do intelligent people consistently make such a hash of things? Because they are smart enough to talk themselves into anything. Ordinary mortals don’t engage in fancy mental gymnastics to reach conclusions that defy common sense. But intellectuals are particularly prone to this.”

I’ve got to remember who said this so I can give proper attribution. No, it sure wasn’t me! If there was EVER an opportunity to “make a hash out of things”, municipalization of the power grid is certainly one of them AND of course, Boulder City Council is the perfect group of “intelligent people” to do it.

Ok, it’s from the article ‘Why Presidents do Stupid Things’ by Shikha Dalmia.

Gibson Guitar CEO warns that jobs may be sent overseas in aftermath of DOJ raid

Smart man.

But he also cautioned that American jobs could be lost and sent overseas.

“You know, there’s a very real possibility we will have to move at least some processing [jobs] overseas,” Juszkiewicz said. “I’m trying to avoid that. But you know, I have to do what the business requires, and that’s a very realistic possibility.”

Well I suppose if Mr. Juszkiewicz was really a smart man, he would have moved jobs overseas already.

Wow, that really separates her from the pack doesn’t it?

Oh and goodness gracious, what a 1, 2 punch…

Jones’s parents were educators who raised five daughters, including her twin sister, Elise, who is now the executive director of Colorado Environmental Coalition and is running for Boulder County commissioner in 2012.

Goodness gracious, vote NO.

I guess it’s not too late for me to run for BCC eh?

Turn up the heat

Subpoenas issued to DOJ for Fast and Furious.

The subpoena seeks, among other things, all communications regarding the operation from 16 top Justice officials, including Holder, his chief of staff, Gary Grindler, and the head of the department’s criminal division, Lanny Breuer, as well as correspondence on specific dates to and from the former head of the ATF’s Phoenix field division, William Newell.

It’s gonna take a high up whistleblower to get anything approaching the truth.

The Government should do more…

LOL…

Great. More laws, more regulations, less freedom and lower standard of living. Is there anything government can’t do?

Pathetic.

“Either a lot of Democrats have been slandering millions of American voters as racist, or the Tea Party hasn’t gotten the word that Herman Cain is African American.”

Racist Republicans Flocking to Cain

But when GOP conservatives from South Carolina have a Black Congressman, a non-white governor and are lining up to vote for a Black presidential candidate, I think it’s time we reconsidered the slur and defame policy. Whatever their parents and grandparents may have thought, and whatever atavistic creeps still snipe from the fringes, the mass of white southern conservatives today have moved on. They clearly and incontrovertibly are judging political candidates by their character and their views, not by the color of the skin.

It would be nice to see a few more voices in the establishment media take note of that. Who knows? An end to the constant drip-drip-drip of accusations that American conservatives are racist thugs longing for the days of Jim Crow might just do something to restore civility in our political discourse.

It’s just a thought.

(emphasis added)

Yea, just a thought.

“As this case makes clear, fair and impartial law enforcement cannot exist as long as government can take a person’s property without convicting them of a crime”

Is this America? Really? Really!!??? We the people and all that jazz? Do “We the People” really want this building to be seized?

Glenn Reynolds chimes in…

Tar. Feathers. And obviously, you don’t want to locate a business in Tewksbury, or in Massachusetts, with this sort of thing going on. And given the involvement of the DEA, maybe you don’t even want to locate a business in the United States of America . .

Winter Weather prediction – with obligatory global warming reference

from the Daily Camera. It calls for a dry and cold winter. Of course, that’s what’s a DC weather prediction without a closing paragraph on global warming

On Sept. 15, a group of three winter sports athletes, calling itself the Protect Our Winters campaign, was on Capitol Hill to make a chilling prediction. The group says Colorado stands to lose billions of dollars if Congress doesn’t do something about global warming. Pro skier Chris Davenport said winter has become an “endangered season.” According to the group, 600,000 jobs and a $66 billion-a-year snow sports industry are in jeopardy.
