Scott Johnson – Go to hell, man | Power Line

Is Devin Nunes really a Russian agent the MSM asks itself.

The Democrats’ media adjunct seeks to enforce the party line. The Free Beacon’s David Rutz documents the bottomless absurdity of MSNBC doing its thing to Nunes. Rutz found Bloomberg Politics managing editor/MSNBC contributor John Heilemann asking guests on Monday whether they believe Nunes is now a Russian agent. Really. (video at link)

John Neilemann, you really are dumber than a box of rocks. Just so you know, since you are so stoopid…

John Hinderaker – A Tremendous Performance By President Trump | Power Line

Tonight’s State of the Union speech was a triumph for President Trump. The speech was excellent, and Trump knew it cold and delivered it effectively.

The president began with a recitation of his administration’s achievements that was truly impressive. Trump emphasized, appropriately, the remarkable gains our economy has made in just one year.

The president’s reception by most in the House chamber was rapturous, which must have been an eye-opener for some who watched. For the Democrats, the optics were very bad. They ostentatiously refused to stand or even applaud, even in response to the least controversial passages in Trump’s speech. One of the most striking visuals was of the Democrats’ Black Caucus refusing to stand for, or even applaud, the lowest African-American unemployment rate in history. If I were an African-American viewing the proceedings, I would wonder: whose side are they on?

Hinderaker concludes…

All in all, it was a terrific night for the good guys. Trump’s performance tonight was a reminder that his predecessor was not a very good public speaker. He never succeeded in stirring an audience as Trump did tonight. The Democrats can only hope that not a lot of swing voters were watching.

Faster please – Industry leaders ‘welcome’ the disruption that Amazon, JPMorgan, Berkshire Hathaway may ignite – Modern Healthcare

Agreeing that something has to be done to drive down costs, healthcare leaders responded positively to news that powerful outsiders could disrupt the status quo.

There are a number of quotes from various executives in the healthcare industry, this is one of my favorites…

“The announcement today is a landmark event because it means that the most innovative employers do not believe that most of us see the burning platform. They are not comfortable with the only thing in their and their employees lives that is stuck in the ’90s being healthcare. At a time when Amazon has technology to enter your house with same-day delivery or have a totally automated grocery store, they are not content with our lame explanations around transparency, inequities and even sending a believable understandable bill. I believe this is Jeff Bezos, Jamie Dimon and Warren Buffett doing their “we’re mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore” speech and taking it into their own hands. (emphasis added – Ed) At Thomas Jefferson University and Health we embrace that mentality and are ready to join with Jeff, Jamie and Warren in the revolution!”

Disrupter – Amazon, Buffett, JPMorgan tackle US health care “tapeworm” – NewsTimes

“The ballooning costs of (health care) act as a hungry tapeworm on the American economy,” Buffett said in a prepared statement. “Our group does not come to this problem with answers. But we also do not accept it as inevitable.”

The new company will be independent and “free from profit-making incentives and constraints.” The businesses said the new venture’s initial focus would be on technology that provides “simplified, high-quality and transparent” care.

Healthcare stocks are down. If there was stock in healthcare.gov and the state exchanges such as the wonderfully efficient ‘/sarc/’ Connect for Health Colorado they would be in free fall.

L.A.’s got nothing on Boulder – L.A. Is Creating Traffic Jams to Push Commuters to Ride Bikes and Rail – Reason.com

Coming soon to a city near you: the misguided movement to force you out of your car and onto a bike or trolley.

Oh it’s already here. And a peak into the future…

Road diets are part of a strategy known as Vision Zero, in which Los Angeles aims to eliminate all traffic-related fatalities by 2025. It’s an idea borrowed from Sweden, which in the ’90s started experimenting with reconfiguring the roads to encourage more commuters to bike or take mass transit to work.

Sweden, custom made for the pseudo-intellectual elites inhabiting Boulder.

Whatever – “Nutella Riots” Spread Across France Following Steep Discounts

In some cases, police were called when people began pushing and fighting one another trying to get their hands on as many containers as they could carry, the BBC reported.

“They are like animals. A woman had her hair pulled, an elderly lady took a box on her head, another had a bloody hand,” one customer told French media.

Men, don’t let them turn you into Pajama boy : Duke’s ‘Men’s Project’ Seeks To ‘Destabilize Masculine Privilege’

She added, “Now in its third year, the project has hosted numerous events dedicated to helping men ‘begin the work of unlearning violence.’ Last semester alone, the project hosted six public events on campus, including one arguing that ‘all men’ promote rape culture.”

No wonder Men are going on strike. Who wants to put up with this presumption of guilt especially when the proposed solution is to become pussified.

And then there’s Dr Helen Smith’s column, Men who Do Too Much. She writes (she’s the author of the book Men on Strike as well)…

Why? Every day in the media and in our culture, we hear about the needs of women; from the “You go girl” mantra to the #MeToo hashtags that label every man a suspect, the meme is “women’s needs are all that matter.” Men, not so much — and heterosexual men? Their feelings and desires not only don’t matter, they are held in downright contempt, and possibly subject to jail time, whether the man is guilty or not.

Not a great time to be a a straight male.
