“Damn” was her audible response
I recently heard a surprising story: A female CEO was briefed on a stellar candidate for a top job at her company. “Sounds ideal,” she said to the group in the room. “Male or female?” Male was the answer. “Damn” was her audible response. The guy wasn’t even interviewed. Why Are Men SilentSearch BIS

Colorado License Plate 893-EKG found and ticketed
Boulder Daily Camera: Honking at cyclists: Erie man, 75, ticketed in incident near Longmont
James Ernst was ticketed on two counts of misdemeanor harassment, impeding the flow of traffic and improper use of a horn or warning, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
At 75 years of age, Mr. Ernst has had years to display this type of behavior and apparently hasn’t. Sounds like a combination of a “bad day at the office” and losing his wife in the last year. Of course, what do I know? Whatever, his actions were unacceptable, of that there can be no doubt.

Walmart coming to Boulder?
Walmart buzz grows around mystery grocer opening at Boulder’s Diagonal Plaza
In north Boulder, work is moving forward on a grocery store that is steeped in mystery and already drenched in controversy.
A mini-protest was held last night prior to the City Council meeting. According to the Daily Camera…
Roughly two dozen residents rallied against the possibility of a Walmart at the Diagonal Plaza before the Boulder City Council meeting Tuesday night.
and
At the rally in front of the Municipal Building, about a third of the protesters appeared to be transients who had been hanging out by the Boulder Creek Path and were drawn by free pizza.
I’d say this will get more interesting before it’s over.

Crazy. There are cyclists I’m not fans of, but this driver is, to put it mildly, an idiot.

Two-thirds of Democrats think government should do more
Thankfully, the bigger picture acccrding to Gallup is a little brighter …
while an even larger percentage of Republicans say government is doing too much that should be left to individuals and businesses. More than six in 10 independents agree that the government is doing too much.
So Boulder.

Farm Bill Proves Republicans Need To Learn We Have A Spending Problem
In this case, it seems Republicans haven’t figured out that we have a spending problem in the United States.
And proof of that ignorance is clear in the Farm Bill, a sacred cow (no pun intended) to farm belt legislators from both sides of the aisle.

Paving Boulder County Roads
Two proposals discussed at the upcoming Boulder County Commissioners meeting. IMHO, both the meeting room and allocated time are to small.
Based on the Talmey Drake survey I participated in, regardless of what the citizens have to say, the official county line will be the citizens won’t tax themselves so the coumty will do it for them.
