Jury Nullification and raw milk

Raw Milk Co-Op Farmer Acquitted Through Jury Nullification

Alvin Schlangen is a peaceful farmer who connects people with the food sources that meet their high standards for health by providing private access under lawful ownership of farm animals. the member owners pay the Amish farm family for labor to milk the leased 100% grass-fed cows, manage the pasture, store the feed, etc. This co op is a sustainable farming effort where the value of food supports the cost incurred, without government subsidies or harm to the environment. The balance of food options are purchased by the club, for the members. The group has multiple farm sources providing real food to member families- very efficiently, with lots of volunteer effort.

Over the past two years, the Minnesota Department of Agriculture has illegally raided Alvin’s van, warehouse, and farm resulting in the multiple charges that were decided upon in court last week. Technically, Alvin was guilty of breaking the laws in question, even though the laws are totally ridiculous and unjust. Luckily this jury was informed about the process of jury nullification, and their legal right to rule in favor of the accused for breaking unjust laws.

…..

“… As laws become more and more invasive, punitive, and draconian, prison populations become more and more peopled by harmless, productive people, who have harmed no other person. Jurors can stop the enforcement of bad laws. Jurors have stopped bad laws since freedom of religion was defended by jurors, and by later jurors who refused to enforce slavery. We, the owners of all government, retain the peaceful, lawful right to refuse to enforce bad laws made by some judge or politician. Courageous jurors have always stood firm—for the human rights of their families and neighbors—by refusing to sanction bad laws. The right of the People to drink the milk of their choice, and to feed their children healthy foods, is a human right.”

America could use a lot more of this common sense type of thinking.

Univision: Doing the work the legacy media either won’t do or is incapable of doing

Univision report connects Operation Fast and Furious scandal to murders of Mexican teenagers

“Near midnight, the assassins, later identified as hired guns for the Mexican cartel La Linea, broke into a one-story house and opened fire on a gathering of nearly 60 teenagers. Outside, lookouts gunned down a screaming neighbor and several students who had managed to escape. Fourteen young men and women were killed, and 12 more were wounded before the hit men finally fled.”

Citing a Mexican Army document it obtained and published, Univision reported that “[t]hree of the high caliber weapons fired that night in Villas de Salvarcar were linked to a gun tracing operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).”

That operation was Fast and Furious.

Just to remind you…

It wasn’t until U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s murder prompted whistle-blowers to come forward to Congress to publicly voice concerns about ]he program that the Obama administration stopped allowing firearms to flow into Mexico.

What was the real motive behind Fast and Furious?

Showing up

Glenn Reynolds: The importance of showing up

And people on the right HAVE been showing up: Examples include:

  • One example is the massive nationwide display of support for Chick-fil-A in the face of attacks on its owners’ religious beliefs. Within days of appeals for a day of support via email lists, blogs and talk radio, every Chick-fil-A in the country was swamped by lines of people patiently waiting hours to buy a chicken sandwich. Several observers commented that if there had been voting booths in each restaurant, the result would have been a landslide.

  • Likewise, Dinesh D’Souza’s new documentary, “2016: Obama’s America,” quickly became the nation’s leading documentary and has now expanded to more than 1,800 theaters nationwide. It’s rare for a documentary to get this kind of response, and basically unheard-of for a right-leaning documentary to do so. Once again, when called upon, people showed up.

  • In the more obviously political realm, since the selection of Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney’s running mate, crowds have been huge and lines have been long. It takes a lot to get Americans off the couch, but apparently a lot of them on the Right are now willing to do it for politics.

Well let’s see, I didn’t make it to Chick Fillet, in fact I’ve never eaten there. I saw Paul Ryan up in Fort Collins last Wednesday and have seen 2016: Obama’s America. Not to mention, I plan to see Atlas Shrugged Part II in a few weeks.

Oh, and I WILL be showing up.

News you can use on Fast and Furious

Apparently the go to network is Univision.

Despite a concerted effort by the mainstream media to ignore the story and the Obama administration’s attempt to stonewall investigators, this story seems to be catching fire.

I predict critical mass after November 6th.

Zero Hedge:”In other words, the Federal student loan bubble has not only popped, but has all the carbon copy makings of the next subprime crisis.”

The Next Subprime Crisis Is Here: Over $120 Billion In Federal Student Loans In Default

And the biggest problem: unlike housing where there is always at least some recovery of collateral, as the house remains, with student debt there is no recoverable asset as the asset is a human being. Granted said human effectively becomes a debt slave courtesy of the non-discharge nature of the student loan, which can not be wiped out even with a personal bankruptcy, but assuming the taxpayer can recover any money using discounted garnished wage flows of what are effectively perpetual(ly discouraged) debt slaves of the system, is simply idiotic.

From my point of view, student loans enabled tuition and overall cost of college inflation, which lead, eventually, to our present situation.

Of course, all over again, we have to have the argument of the “evil bankers” and the government creating a “moral hazard” situation.

Citizens of Illinois: Your Governor is Pat Quinn

Here’s his picture on the right half of the picture (courtesy of the Fox News web site):

Don’t vote for him again. He wants the FederalGgovernment, who is $16 trillion in debt not to mention unfunded future liabilities, to bail his state pension fund out. Will NOT happen.

Nationwide backlash

The Feds bailing out state pension funds.

Illinois Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn is getting hit with a nationwide backlash over his suggestion that the federal government bail out the state employees’ pension program.

Critics have in the past several days pounced on the suggestion, made last year when Quinn, in announcing the state’s fiscal 2012, said part of Illinois’ long-term effort to reduce the estimate $167 billion in under-funded liabilities would be to seek “a federal guarantee of the debt.”

No, No, NO, the Federal Government should absolutely NOT be bailing out stoopidly run State pension systems.

Even 71% of Democrats agree ALL AMERICANS SHOULD PAY TAXES

Glenn Reynolds: I TOLD YOU MY POSITION WOULD SELL

Article.

The nitty gritty if you have insomnia.

Other interesting poll results from the “nitty gritty” link

  1. Question number 44 on the 47% entitlement. Based on the results I wouldn’t be running ads demeaning Romney on this
  2. Question #48 takes the media to the woodshed.
  3. The Tax question is #23

Of course, since it’s a FOX news poll, it doesn’t really count, even though done by outside companies.

The polls must be closer than the MSM portrays: Soros donates $1.5 million to pro-Obama super PACs

George Soros, the liberal billionaire investor who has largely laid low during the 2012 elections, announced $1.5 million in pledged donations Thursday to a trio of super PACs backing President Obama and congressional Democrats, PAC officials said. Soros, who became nationally prominent in 2004 when he spent more than $20 million on independent groups supporting Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), will give $1 million to Priorities USA Action — which is supporting Obama — and $500,000 to Majority PAC and House Majority PAC, which are running ads on behalf of Democratic candidates for Congress.

That said, the final paragraph is the most interesting…

Democrats have been worried for months about Republican success in raising funds from wealthy conservatives, who have poured hundreds of millions of dollars into a network of groups aimed at toppling Obama. Many wealthy liberals, by contrast, have sat on the sidelines, in part because they say they are discomfited by the influence of big money in politics.

    Really? REALLY? LOL

If you somehow win reelection, how would you assure whites you’d be their president also?

    Absolutely, positively not gonna happen.

Daily Camera coverage: Fracking vs. Paving County Roads

    From headline to no line.

County resident Deborah Ellerman wants to know why.

Deborah, move along, nothing to see here. The Daily Camera would be happier then the County Commissioners themselves if the actual County was 100% open space. It fits the Progressive narrative.

C’mon Daily Camera, how big of a jump is it from single payer health care to single payer roads?

Me, if the neighborhoods truly need to pave their own roads, then we should privatize them and tell the County to take a hike. I realize this pig of an idea doesn’t fly.

I’m 100% with Deborah, Daily Camera DO YOUR JOB. I was at the meeting, it was overflow with some residents adjourning to another room to watch the web stream.
