Houston has a problem (and it’s called the NAACP)

NAACP Takes Over Houston Polling Station, Advocates for President Obama

“The NAACP basically ran this poll location and the judges did nothing about it,” Rockford said.

I don’t understand two things:

  • The lack of action by the election supervisor and
  • Why no one in line called the police.

I absolutely guarantee you I would have called the police.

Ann Althouse: He feels like optimism, and Obama — who once owned the word “hope” — seems petulant, divisive, and ungrateful.

This clip neatly embodies a reason why I believe Romney will win.

Benghazi news roundup

Sara Hoyt guest blogging at Instapundit: WE MUST NOT EXPERIENCE BENGHAZI FATIGUE

I’ll keep up my end of the bargain. I don’t believe the local paper will ever carry their weight on Benghazi.

Ann Althouse: Then came Benghazi and the door closed.

On why she’s (apparently) voting for Romney. Based on the comments in the local paper, I don’t believe Benghazi has had much effect on Obama supporters here. If it’s covered by Fox news, it’s not news is the general opinion.

Color me slightly suspicious of voting machine error claims…

Claims increase of machines switching votes in Ohio, other battlegrounds

I’m for an honest and fair election. Be careful out there. I believe the paper ballot system Boulder County has is less error prone, at least that’s what I’m hoping.

Untility Crews: No Union, No workie

PATHETIC: Decatur Utilities crews home after issues with union

Probably doesn’t help that they talk funny either. I can conclude two things here:

1. If you don’t have big government to throw up red tape in an emergency, the Unions can step in without missing a beat.

2. Apparently the emergency isn’t as bad as the news people are showing us. Otherwise, who would turn down help in fixing downed power lines??

Oh yeah…. neanderthal union leadership, that’s who.

More on the Las Vegas Review “Obama Unworthy” editorial.

Elizabeth Price Foley: LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL EXCORIATES OBAMA AS “UNWORTHY”: WOW. I’ve never seen anything quite like this.

She picks out this paragraph to highlight…

These behaviors go far beyond “spin.” They amount to a pack of lies. To return to office a narcissistic amateur who seeks to ride this nation’s economy and international esteem to oblivion, like Slim Pickens riding the nuclear bomb to its target at the end of the movie “Dr. Strangelove,” would be disastrous

Needless to say, I don’t believe Obama will be having a “sit down” with the editorial board of the Las Vegas Review anytime soon.

Las Vegas Review on Obama: These behaviors go far beyond “spin.” They amount to a pack of lies.

This administration is an embarrassment on foreign policy and incompetent at best on the economy – though a more careful analysis shows what can only be a perverse and willful attempt to destroy our prosperity. Back in January 2008, Barack Obama told the editorial board of the San Francisco Chronicle that under his cap-and-trade plan, “If somebody wants to build a coal-fired power plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them.” He added, “Under my plan … electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.” It was also in 2008 that Mr. Obama’s future Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, famously said it would be necessary to “figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe” – $9 a gallon.

The Private sector is NOT doing fine

Michelle Malkin: Obama’s Layoff Bomb

Case in point: Obamacare. The mandate will cost Dana Holding Corp., which employs some 24,500 workers, “approximately $24 million over the next six years in additional U.S. health care expenses.” As Ohio Watchdog blogger Maggie Thurber reported, the firm’s Toledo area corporate offices laid off seven white-collar employees last Friday; company insiders told her more were on the way. They are not alone.

On Tuesday, Consol Energy issued a federally mandated layoff disclosure announcing its “intent to idle its Miller Creek surface operations near Naugatuck, W.Va.” The move will affect the company’s Wiley Surface Mine, Wiley Creek Surface Mine, Minway Surface Mine, Minway Preparation Plant and Miller Creek Administration Group, all in Mingo County, W.Va. Despite state approval, cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and myriad other agencies, and a stellar safety record, Obama’s EPA dragged its feet on the permit approval process. The impasse has forced layoffs of 145 Consol Energy employees that will hit at the end of the year. They are not alone.

Plenty more examples at the link.

It’s not like these formerly employed workers can get government subsidized green jobs anymore. Of course, President Obama wants to add a Secretary of Business, I’m assuming to address these problems. How about a Secretary of Common Sense instead?

Of course it does: Looming Tax Hike Motivates Owners to Sell

Mr. Wolf added that if he waited until after the tax increase to sell, he would have to expand the business at the current rate “for at least 3 or 4 more years to achieve the same after-tax sales dollar.” He is profiting on the sale of his business to Praxair Inc., PX +1.66% a public company.

Are Obama and Democrats having a voter enthusiasm problem?

Obama supporters slower to snatch up tickets to president’s 3rd CU-Boulder visit

Three visits is a lot. Don’t know if you can blame Boulderites for having less enthusiasm vs. the “been there done that” feeling. That said, one must wonder if Obama doesn’t have a better way to spend his political capital and time. That in itself says a lot as what is this visit except shoring up the base?

Added: Rasmussen on Colorado Oct 30: Romney 50% Obama 46%

Still, Colorado remains a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral College Projections. But Colorado is the fourth swing state that has moved in Romney’s direction in the past week. Florida, Missouri and North Carolina have now shifted from Toss-Up to Leans Romney.

Facebook took the graphic down twice on the ground that it violated their terms of service, but it is now back up on the SOS site.

Special Operations Speaks.

Added 10/31 @ 16:07:

News you can use: Facebook admits error in censoring anti-Obama message

SOS booster and retired U.S. Navy SEAL Larry Bailey puts the situation this way: “It looks like Obama’s liberal followers in Facebook HQ are terrified of how damaging the Benghazi scandal is for the President. We understand that Facebook can run their site however they’d like, but when they’re trying to quietly squelch opposition to what is a clear leadership failure that resulted in the tragic deaths of some of our nation’s heroes, they deserve the to be called out on it,”

“What’s unusual is that 10 days before Election Day, a congressional candidate would raise money from an event full of rape jokes.”

Democrat Alan Grayson looking for votes.

Apparently this “comedy” was inspired by Todd Akin’s idiotic rape and pregnancy statements:

Making fun of Republican Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin’s suggestion that there is some biological mechanism to prevent a woman from being impregnated when she is raped, comedian Jimmy Dore riffed on how he and his wife were poor when they were younger and couldn’t afford birth control.

Dumb and Dumber or Dumber and Dumb take your choice. They’re both from the bottom of the gene pool IMHO. Since Grayson is running for the House in Florida and Todd Akin is running in MO, I’ll give the “dumber” award to Grayson for treading on a stupid subject after the fact in a totally separate race. You’re welcome to give the “dumber” award to Todd Akin, makes no never mind to me.

Obama campaign donations: Apparently the ends justify the means

Money from Pakistan, not an issue. As long as it’s for Obama, let it flow.

Nothing to see here, move along.

Why do we have campaign finance laws? I’m so confused, please some progressive enlighten me why this is OK? Why doesn’t the Obama campaign use the credit card CVV code?

Broken Glass Voters

Stephen Green: It’s What You Can’t See

The polls also have a hard time making numbers out of “broken glass voters.” These are folks who (like me) voted for Bob Barr four years ago, or held their nose and grudgingly voted for McCain, or just stayed home. This year they’d crawl naked over broken glass to vote against Obama. There are even a few BGV types who voted for Obama last time around. They can also be filed under “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” They feel betrayed, and rightly so.
