Thanks to the incompetence of do gooder Boulder County Commissioners Will Toor, Ben Pearlman and Cindy Domenico I now have three trash carts. Whoops I guess technically they aren’t all trash carts. What I have is as follows:
1 – 96 gallon cart for trash
1 – 64 gallon cart for slipstream recycling
1 – 32 gallon cart for composting
Excuse me, this is idiotic. On August 13th I will be returning the recycling and composting carts. If the commissioners want that space in my garage they can pay for it. Not to mention hauling three carts to the end of a 150′ driveway.
Also, on August 13th I will be changing the 96 gallon trash cart for a 32 gallon cart. The only reason I had the 96 gallon cart was to get the service picking up branches and lawn waste. If I cut my lawn and bag it, even a 96 gallon composting is a joke.
Boulderites, don’t get the idea I don’t recycle, as I have been very consistent in recycling over the last 20 years. Almost weekly, at least until gas prices went up, I visited ecocycle every Sunday morning. Now I visit when I can combine it with another trip. I enjoy doing it and will continue to do so. In doing this I’ve had to put up with a variety of liberal political bumper stickers on ecoycle trash bins and political signs displayed on their property.
I find non-profits allowing political signage on their property or posting signs themselves abhorrent. I stopped donating to the Boulder County Shelter for the Homeless precisely because of that reason. Additional misleading mailings from them have put them permanently on the do not contribute to list.
Back to ecocycle, you can see that I’ve documented their facilty in the not too distant past.
Please vote all three of these commissioners out of office. For every position there are two challengers, one each from the Libertarian and Republican parties. I don’t care which ones we vote in, if they have a pulse, they’re better than what we presently have.
