Why is it I would be much happier if the county had simply charged trash rates by volume but not a mandatory recycling fee? Probably because then the individual citizen could make a free will decision to either recycle, or pay more to have trash hauled away that should be recycled.
But no, the county has to mandate a recycling fee to “encourage” their citizens to recycle, something I’ve been doing for 20 years. Now I have to pay for something I don’t need, thank you very much.
I don’t need the arrogant Boulder County Commissioners taking care of me or their perverse socialist behaviour modification experiments. Frankly, it’s insulting.
