It sure seems to me that the FTC needs to “get over themselves” as they continue to try and gum up an already completed merger between Whole Foods and Wild Oats. It’s a very small stretch to reach the conclusion that the FTC personnel working on this case are a bunch of arrogant bureaucrats with law degrees and an ax to grind.
Admittedly, I don’t live on natural and organic food, but there sure seems to be a nice selection available at “mainstream” stores. Perhaps they don’t have the variety and cache of Whole Foods or Wild Oats but making the argument that a monopoly has been formed only gets weaker by the day, heck even by the hour.
Certainly the FTC has more important things to do? Please, oh please tell me there’s something more meaningful for the FTC bureaucrats to be doing?
