As many have noticed I’m no friend of Boulder County. I returned the recycling carts that were shoved down our throats, yet I still get to pay $10 a month for them. I don’t need them as I recycle every Sunday morning. I have to admit that paying this $10/mo for ff’ing nothing pisses me off. As a retribution/sabotage I’m less careful about what plastics can be recycled, etc as I figure I’m paying someone else to worry about that.
So I went to Ecocycle (well I guess it’s actually the Boulder County Recycling Center) this Sunday and did my recycling thing. It was windy and there were a lots of the same type of plastic bags strewn across the ecocycle lawn and across the street up against the fence bordering the power plant.
Why did I take it upon myself to pick up as many as I could in a single trip? I estimate I picked up 15 – 20 plastic bags. Why was a conservative curmudgeon doing this instead of some Boulder progressive?
Inquiring minds want to know. I’ve already admitted I’m stoopid, what’s your excuse?
Now might be a good time to:
1) Contemplate the top eight recycling myths.
2) Get Penn and Teller’s take on the recycling religion (language alert).
Thanks, I'll look into your recommendations in the near future!
