From a small mind – A small view of a big shutdown – Boulder Daily Camera.
We’re not so sure. Sure, moderate Republicans in Congress have spoken out about the shutdown. But in looking at the results last week — gutted environmental protection, shuttered science experiments, slashed or threatened programs for the poor, especially women and children — it seems that the “establishment” GOP is actually gaining a lot of what its members in recent years have generally been fighting for.
Garbage like this while great for pandering to Boulder’s liberal base says more about Erika’s small mind then about what Republican’s want for the above interests. The United States hasn’t fallen apart in a week and the establishment GOP doesn’t want all of these bad things and neither does the tea party.
Also, why is the economy is such pathetic shape and that includes the Federal Reserve printing $86 billion a month in the form of QE?
Perhaps it’s the policies of the Obama administration? Certainly Erika, somewhere along the line, the Obama administration has to stand up and take responsibility for their policies? Well, perhaps if the main stream media would do their job?
And think how much worse the economy would be doing if it wasn’t for the fossil fuel energy renaissance that is ongoing in the US, with no help from the administration I might add.
Your hyperbole, stereotyping and putting down the other side is a great example of why we are in this situation. You are part of the problem.
One last point, the United States is $17,000,000,000 (see below) in debt, where exactly is the money going to come from? We’re living in a fantasy land and you’re leading the way. The Shutdown is a Sideshow. Debt is the Threat.
Added 10/12/2013:
Thousand = 1,000
Millino = 1,000,000
Billion = 1,000,000,000
Trillion = 1,000,000,000,000
So $17 trillion = $17.000,000,000,000
Thanks Mark!
“One last point, the United States is $17,000,000,000 in debt”
Add 3 more zeros for the right figure.
Yikes! Thanks.
