On Sept. 15, a group of three winter sports athletes, calling itself the Protect Our Winters campaign, was on Capitol Hill to make a chilling prediction. The group says Colorado stands to lose billions of dollars if Congress doesn’t do something about global warming. Pro skier Chris Davenport said winter has become an “endangered season.” According to the group, 600,000 jobs and a $66 billion-a-year snow sports industry are in jeopardy.
