One would think. Of course, if you’re a Democrat pushing to adopt cap-and-trade here in the U.S., the opportunities for fraud and political patronage are precisely what make the scheme so attractive.
In the short term I believe that’s quite accurate. Over time, the corruption would no doubt reach into both political parties.
The issue is as long as the corruption was limited to the Democratic party, it would be soft-balled, just like Climategate. It would only become a legacy media issue when the corruption reached into the Republican Party
