The editors of the Boulder Daily Camera, in a pang of typical liberal guilt, want more US $$’s to go to the UN (read here, free registration necessary). The admirable goal is to cure/control the “silent tsunami”, malaria.
The UN is a corrupt, lethargic and arrogant organization. Their inability to admit to almost any element of corruption is ample evidence of their arrogance. You can read about their incompetence in handling the tsunami relief here and their general level of incompetence in these two books from world travler Jim Rogers.
The UN has a lot of bad tasting medicine to take before I’d give them any money. Chemotherapy comes to mind.
