Joe we have a problem

Watch: Joe Biden Incorrectly Claims His Son Beau ‘Lost His Life in Iraq’

Giving a speech in Colorado to designate Camp Hale as a national monument, the president discussed the many sacrifices that soldiers make before citing his son Beau as an example. “I say this as a father of a man and won the Bronze Star, the conspicuous service medal, and lost his life in Iraq,” Biden said.

Just in case you don’t know…

Although Biden’s son did serve in Iraq, he died of brain cancer in 2015.

If Joe Biden doesn’t know where and how his son Beau died, he shouldn’t be President. If he DOES know where and how his son Beau died, but elected to lie with such an obviously verifiable, not to mention common knowledge fact, he shouldn’t be President.

Goodbye Joe. You shouldn’t be running in 2024, you should be concerned with making it there as President at all.

BoCo Allowing Farmers to Farm

Unbelieveable growing GMO crops allowed! – Boulder County allowing farmers to grow GMOs on open space after organic utopia didn’t materialize

“It’s hard for people living in the city of Boulder, and even on the western side of Boulder County, to understand what real agriculture even looks like,” Schlagel said. The crop bans were “a mandate from somebody that we’re going to transition to something better that is very naive. Because if there was something better, we would already be there.”

Now, after years of debate and voluminous series of reports and public comment, Schlagel and other Boulder County lease farmers can plant what they want. The farmers convinced Boulder County leaders that they couldn’t survive while adhering to prohibition of genetically engineered corn and pesticide coatings using controversial neonicotinoids.

Good time to buy an John Deere EV Tractor?

The death of common sense – Dear John Deere

He recently received a phone call from his John Deere representative, and they want the farm to go to electric tractors and combines in 2023. He currently has 5 diesel combines that cost $900,000 each that are traded-in every 3 years. Also, over 10 really BIG tractors. JD wants him to go all electric soon.

He said: “Ok, I have some questions. How do I charge these combines when they are 3 counties away from the shop in the middle of a cornfield, in the middle of nowhere?”

“How do I run them 24 hours a day for 10 or 12 days straight when the harvest is ready, and the weather is coming in?”

“How do I get a 50,000+ lb. combine that takes up the width of an entire road back to the shop 20 miles away when the battery goes dead?”

There was dead silence on the other end of the phone.

When the corn is ready to harvest, it has to have the proper sugar and moisture content. If it is too wet, it has to be put in giant dryers that burn natural or propane gas, and lots of it. Harvest time is critical because if it degrades in sugar content or quality, it can drop the value of his crop by half a million dollars or more. It is analyzed at time of sale. It is standard procedure to run these machines 10 to 12 days straight, 24 hours a day at peak harvest time.

When the machines need fuel, a tanker truck delivers it, and the machines keep going. John Deere’s only answer is “we’re working on it.” They are being pushed by the lefty Dems in the government to force these electric machines on the American farmer.

I guess they will just put solar panels on top of the tractor to keep the batteries charged. Whoops, that only fixes the daytime. For night they can convert to wind turbines and hope the wind blows. For my Boulder fans, this is a joke. The panels and the wind turbines could not produce enough energy. Just sayin’

Against Doomsdayism

From David Bahnsen, CIO and Managing Partner of The Bahnsen Group. He states his position much better than I can. Let’s just say we are in close alignment…

I disagree strongly with a lot of the environmental prescriptions of the left, and any pretense that a fossil-free world is even a possibility (apart from the vast death and destruction of entire societies of people).  However, I have always held fast to the notion that cleaner and lesser carbon emissions were a noble environmental aim, even if I insist on pursuing this behind a grown-up conversation about trade-offs.  I am not a climate denier, and have never understood the impulse to resist the idea that lesser carbon emissions are desirable.  That said, the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased substantially with the industrialization and economic progress of the planet, and no one I know wants to stop economic progress (well, no one I respect).  The key measure, therefore, must be “Carbon Emissions per Output” so as to weight the carbon relative to actual economic growth.  To see that number decline must be our aim, and decline it has!  In the U.S. alone, the number has dropped by 66% over the last fifty years, and globally it has dropped by 41%.  Technological improvements in production processes are fueling the way (see what I did there), and of course, greater use of natural gas.

You can read his investment missive called DC today here. (Note the link is to a specific issue, but I’m sure you can figure out the rest if you’re so inclined).

2022 Version of “Let them eat Cake”

A little background from Wikipedia..

Let them eat cake” is the traditional translation of the French phrase “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche“,[1] said to have been spoken in the 17th or 18th century by “a great princess” upon being told that the peasants had no bread. The French phrase mentions brioche, a bread enriched with butter and eggs, considered a luxury food. The quote is taken to reflect either the princess’s frivolous disregard for the starving peasants or her poor understanding of their plight.

Removing Russia from the world economy has serious and surely unintended/unexpected consequencies. Putting humpty dumpty back together again is going to prove very difficult and I’m certainly concerned about what Russia/Putin will do as they feel cornered. I don’t have the answer, but I know enough to be very concerned.

Russia’s Contribution to the World Economy…

and how it will affect us going forward. Below is a twitter thread from a Maxim Suchkov, who was educated in Moscow. I have no idea where he lives at the present time or where his allegiances lie. Nevertheless, this twitter post seems insightful and I’m sharing it below. It’s worth your time to read the entire thread.

The list of unexpected/unintended consequences is long. There is no rewind button. The effect on the world economy is huge. No, I don’t have solutions to fix the Ukraine situation, it is a humanitarian tragedy and more.
