Colorado License Plate 893-EKG found and ticketed

Boulder Daily Camera: Honking at cyclists: Erie man, 75, ticketed in incident near Longmont

James Ernst was ticketed on two counts of misdemeanor harassment, impeding the flow of traffic and improper use of a horn or warning, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

At 75 years of age, Mr. Ernst has had years to display this type of behavior and apparently hasn’t. Sounds like a combination of a “bad day at the office” and losing his wife in the last year. Of course, what do I know? Whatever, his actions were unacceptable, of that there can be no doubt.

B.S. why cant they ride the shoulder like i did when i was a kid riding to the park to play in the sand

You can go watch a video of two riders on youtube ahead of him. They *are* on the shoulder and the driver is clearly harrassing them just because he's got a few screws loose or something.

Why you ride on the shoulder? Bikes have every right to be on the road. Law requires that you give them the whole lane when you can pass safely.

Cyclist: Close but not quite. I’ll post the law later as I have to head out. Chris

You can view the law at ColoBikeLaw: http://colobikelaw.com/law.php. The key portion of the law regarding use of the road is section 5a.
